I love this build, and using something other than greataxe/kopesh/falchion ect is refreshing, even if staff stats are somewhat lacking. Only a 6 rogue 1 ranger 1 monk so far, but its on par with any 2h meelee I have built so far, excepting that they usually start off with a carnifex which a staff build really cant compete with low levels. Striding boots +ranger sprint+ monk wind stance + showtime is fun for catching up to the party too. And I dont think starting with only 18 str will be too bad for this build. Should hit nice numbers still.
Bump for a fun non cookie cutter build.
Thanks for the input. I have been taking a lot of time to level up and gear up my fvs and my monk so I've neglected this character, but I just got mine to 6/1/1 as well last night. It's definitely fun..at low levels it's a little squishy, but nothing a couple wand flicks can't take care of. Anxious to see how nice this character turns out at 20. I have a buttload of staves I've collected on my monk for it.
+5 Metalline of Pure Good, +4 Vicious of Stunning +10, Dreamspitter, Force Rahl's Might, Paralyzer..these are the big ones..have other situational ones like an Axiomatic of Greater Undead Bane. I definitely plan to get a Souleater and incorporate the epic version into the build. It will be pretty fun after U8.
Just going to point this out, as nobody else has mentioned it:
One benefit of going 13/7 is definitely wholeness of body (that is an amazing tool when soloing.
The other thing is that if you go light path with your monk levels, you actually get some useful finishers and having finishers changes the entire play and feel of the build. So if you like clicky intensive combat styles (which I do) The 7 monk is much more FUN to play than the Kensai version, irregardless of DPS.
Also healing ki is incredibly useful if you solo, and helps to preserve the SP of healers in quests. AND You can pass out aligning the heavens.... Personally, and no offense to OldAquarian - who's build is also nice, I vastly prefer the playstyle of a class multi-classed with 3 level of monk or more, as opposed to 1 or 2.
