Default Lesser Might of the Abishai

I managed to fit in 3 of the new items from the raid on my sorceror to see what this set looked like, and i'm not sure if it's fully working.

I'm getting the bonus +1 bonus to strength and armor, but I tried testing out the bonus to caster level on evocation spells and i'm not getting the benefit.

The only evocation spell i have at the moment is scorching ray, and the character is level 6, so it seemed like i would be able to cast it at a level 7 caster level, which would mean shooting two rays.

Well it's only giving me one ray still.

It doesn't even say that I begin to cast scorching ray at level 7, which it normally would when the caster level on spells get raised.

Now i'm not sure if it's just simply not supposed to work that way, but there are spells that do work like that.

Wearing the starter robe that raises your caster level for first level spells, for instance, increases the number of missiles that magic missile will fire, or at least i remember this to be true.

    So, is it working?

What is your spell dc showing up as when you wear the set? Compared to without the set?

whats the save on it? this is your DC

i.e scorching ray on sorc, char of 10

10 +2 (spell Level) + 5 (char mod) would be save of 17, 18 with might of the abishai

If the might of the abishai is assigning a DC to scorching ray (a spell with NO save), the set has much bigger problems than not providing +1 evocation

Might of the Abishai increases caster level, not DC. Caster level has absolutely no effect on spell DC, so looking at DC won't determine if it is or isn't working correctly.

@OP: I assume you're a 6th level pure caster getting only 1 scorching ray with the Might of Abishai set on? It sounds like it is bugged, as you guessed.

    Cheers,

Just checked on my pali-mutt with a set of three (helm, boot, cloak) - divine favor showed no increase in time, which it would have had it gotten its caster level bumped.

The natural AC does stack w/ +2 barkskin pots, however.

Yea,i also was happy to get the 5-set, cudnt w8 to try it with winters wrath, hoping to shoot 2 frost lances at lvl 5, but i thought:
    1, either they dont stack,
    2, its not working.

2 is true. even at lvl 6 you dont get 2 frost lances with the 5-set on., thus the +1 level for conjuration is either not working properly, or works in different way from arcane/cold augmentation from apprentice robe/ robe of duality/ winters wrath.

Now I know devs are busy and probly they'd answer it works differently, but heck: Fix/upgrade It Pretty Please :-(...
I want my 2 frost lances on my wizard 5:-)
