    Default New Summon Monster III - Air Mephit & Evil Twin

    A couple of my toons use the Shamatic Totem of Splinterskull (from Tangleroot Gorge) to do the Summon Monster III spell. Today I've been experimenting with the new summoned creatures, and discovered this:

    When I choose the Air Mephit, my pet will summon fine. However, this will also cause an enemy Air Mephit to appear in the same spot shortly afterwards. This has happened to different characters in various quests which are not supposed to contain any enemy Air Mephits.

    Has anyone experienced this happening with just the plain Summon Monster III spell, or might this be isolated to the Shamatic Totem of Splinterskull item? Has anyone else experienced this when summoning an Air Mephit with this item?

    Mephits summon other mephits,so you have the friendly original popping out hostile mephits every once in awhile.

    So this is normal? I won't be summoning Air Mephits anymore! LOL

    I also noticed this happening where a summoned Umbral Worg kept summoning enemy Shadows throughout a run of Tear of Dhak.

    Umbral Worgs give monsters Taint of Shadow. When the monsters die, they come back as shadows. An annoying feature, yes.
