    Default The Summoner- PrE

Since update 7 has augmented summoning a bit. What is a good build for a summoner... some questions that need answering.

[1] How many summoned creatures can you have up at one time? And which PrE/class combination is this best achieved? Do the dwarven Dogbots count as a summon?

[2] What is the best way to keep your summons up and running? Palemaster route?

[3] Is it theoretically possible to go from 1-20 (low and high level content) just by killing mobs through your summons?

    [4] Stat allocation?

[5] Can the new Archmage line really augment summoning? (or is it just a waste..I.E. Palemaster)

    1. 12, theoretical using Hirelings purchased from the DDO store (counting hirelings as "summons")
1a. Wizard - Palemaster. This is the only PRE with a summon.
1b. "Dogbots" are in fact summons and cannot be summoned at the same time as your summon monster summon. Or maybe it was the palemaster summon, I forget which. Either way, it does not "add" a summon slot over Palemaster.

    2. Palemaster allows for the most summons at once. Cleric or FvS gives Mass cures/heals. Hirelings can easily accomplish this same function.

    3. I dont see why not.

    4. Stats do not matter. Max your casting stat for charms, otherwise, you could go all 8's and be just as effective as a summoner.

    5. Augment summon is a feat which is completely seperate from Palemaster or Archmage. Palemaster gives 1 extra summon slot as its undead summon is not tied to summon monster I-IX.
