DR... silver or cold iron?

At level 20 you get the choice between DR 10/silver or DR 10/cold iron.
which is more useful?

They're both about the same. I don't think either can be bypassed by anything.


And, Silver sounds cooler, so go with that one.

What's the question? Werewolves have dr/silver. If you pick silver it's like you're picking a werewolf! Can't get more awesome than that!

Seriously though, I think of all the metals only adamantine is used by mobs, and even that's only used by a few (Stormreaver, duergar?)

edit: In PnP Orthons have cold iron spears. If that was implemented in DDO, then silver is a better choice. Anyone know if it's implemented?

silver is better; orthons and bearded devils are supposed to have cold iron weaponry (ala hellstroke greataxe).

Devils don't break my /Cold Iron any better than they broke the /Good on my other FvS.

I wouldn't expect Devils to be weilding Pure Good weapons... unless they splash a level of rogue for UMD (can't be bards 'cause they're lawful).

I guess if they got a hold of some Holy weapons. They shouldn't have a problem with getting enough Devil Scales for a Min2, so if that happens it doesn't really matter which you pick.
