Unhappy Weird texture bug after U7

So, I updated DDO yesterday and everything went just fine. Then I started the game and i was in shock. First thing I noticed that my characters weapon (khopesh) was like 20 meters long (looked like a flagpole). After that I saw that this same stretching occured to many other things like barrels in a bar, dungeon entrances and so on. When I change the camera direction stretching disappears, but when I turn the camera again it comes back.

Here is screenshot about this problem.

So it is not all textures that stretch, only some of them and this weird stretching doesn't happen in any other game. DDO worked perfectly fine before updating. I have also just updated my graphics card drivers, but that didn't help. And there are no overheating problems (temperatures look just fine and no overclocking has been applied).

I noticed that DDO updated DirectX when doing update 7, although I was in belief that I had latest version that works on my computer (9.0c). Maybe that is causing some problems?

I have ATI HD 2600XT as my graphics card and OS is Windows XP 32bit.

    Please help, anyone?

Yet another soon to be dead graphic card.

This usually occurs when your graphic cards has taken a hit from overheating ( or any other reasons ) and is on its way towards the graveyard of the graphic cards.

I had one do that ( long ago... as It was mostly doing that in Threnal Giant's Cave... when said Giant Cave what THE loot run )... and it failed a few weeks after the first appearence.
<- join date is wrong... been playing since a few weeks after original release

European refugee from Boldrei and Keeper. Now on Ghallanda.

It just feels a bit weird that my graphics card starts dying on a first time running DDO after update 7, but I guess that's just bad luck then

Could try changing the DX version, as they seem to be mentoning issues there.
Also maybe try adjusting the graphic settings down and isolate if it goes away.

Tearing like that has normally been a bad sign for me in terms of heat and health of my video card,
but as you said - with the update, who knows if something changed.

Oi veZela, appreciate you reporting this problem as well.
Might I suggest ya take a look at this thread reporting the same issue, it won't offer any insight as to how to fix it, I was unable to find it myself, rather that you're not the only one hit by it.>

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=281051

With you posting about this along with the info on your card and Argentmage squeezing some more intel outta Legolass, like OS in function and card model, that at first reported this bug with only providing absolute minimal detail, I 'm definitely seeing a pattern here.
Any sane person that checked Legolasses first post, and details he provided in it would come to a conclusion his card's bout to get smoked, and was waitin' to post there till he provided some more information we could work from, but...
Ati X2600 came out soon after they introduced the option of DX10, a total bust & utter fail from Microsoft, even more then Vista, and anyone can confirm it, they soon replaced it with cards supporting DX10.1> 3600, 3650, then DX11> 4600,..., all based on the similar graphic processing unit architecture.
If you take a few minutes to scope through Legolasses thread you'd notice he's having the same problem with his X1650 an' me with a similar one, I suspect few other folkes as well, but they might not check the forums that often.
I went a long way to rule out any malfunction both hardware and software nature from my part, last things I've done that I didn't mention in the post was repairing the high rez installation and Dl'ing the U7 again, this time avoiding the DX update by the client with reverting to a clean backup of C directory and downloading and updating DX from official sources prior to letting the client do his thing, an' when even that didn't help, clean new install of DDO, nothing proved beneficial.

At this point am certain it has somethin' to do with introduced changes to graphic settings they rolled out, countering somethin' in these line of cards with similar GPU properties.

I may know few things bout this and that, an' *** or tat but I can't confirm is it somethin' specific bout the lines of cards cousing the problems with textures applying or pinpoint it. All of the mentioned cards pass the recommended specifications, have sufficient amount of vertex, pixel shaders, Shader Model 3.0, in your case 4.0, whatnot, an' If I may be a so bold to say, if it's indeed the latest changes to texture quality they've added with this up update that's causing this, they could possibly give us an option to revert them to state prior to update 7 individually, similar to how they've packed low res install exe and high res install exe, highly doubt it though that they'll make such an effort for such small % of users.
If they do add new lines of cards to the official known issues list and the problem isn't solved with patches, hot-fixes, wouldn't it just be easier for us to get any new game for our card then a new card for this one game X).
An' if I do upgrade, nah, Turbine isn't promoting economics and market, would need it for points besides DDo X), bein able to stay to play would be one of the perks.

You ruled out overheating and tempered core clocks, most obvious reasons for this problems, try stressing the card on some other games, but blah, done that, not counting on you finding any anomalies.
Best I can advise is stay put till some patches/fixes roll out.
