This is a bad idea.

Kind of like the way a sorc can cast spells really quickly in rapid succession?
Put all sorc spells on the same cool down timer please. I mean, you have to take a breath sometime right? Cant chant those magical words forever....
Perhaps when you apply the same logic to your own toon, you will see how rediculous your stance sounds.
Likely not though. I mean if you can machine gun through your spells but others cant, it gives you a distinct PVP advantage, right?
I personally would like to see some new bard instruments that have different magical effects such as increasing buff duration, effectiveness, song save DC, etc. It could either be placed in the trinket slot or given a special slot just for bards so that they don't have to use their trinket up that way. It'd really make bards more interesting to play and more flexible in how they're built.
So this would make it consistant with other spellcasters who don't have unusual cooldowns stopping them from casting other spells? That's a great argument in favor of it. Your argument would seem to really support the OP's idea as it would improve bards in PvE content, which of course is all that matters.
Really...get over PvP already. This game is about PvE.
I just wanted to be able to buff quicker. Before I took my second warchanter, I had my songs set so that the ones on the same cool down were spaced and I could play a different song in between.
Now I have Ironskin, Inspire(courage or greatness...can't remember,) and Song of Recklessness on the same cool down.
Even still, if I'm going to use one of my CC songs, I'll WAIT for the cool down.
And now as Lorien stated....
I like this thought too.

Technically, a bard doesn't actually have to sing to use his bardic music abilities. It just has to be some kind of performance. I had a PnP bard once that specialized in poetry. Actually, he was a multi-classed bard/fighter swinging a greatsword that liked to use the Enlarge Person spell on himself. My enemies would see a 12ft tall, 1600lb giant, swinging a sword about eight feet long coming towards them while reciting poetry with vivid descriptions of epic battles. Ahh, the good old days
Either way, I don't think changing the timer on a bard song either way would keep you from getting killed in PvP.

1. This is geared towards buff songs. Ironskin, Greatness, and Recklessness all being on the same timer is a PITA.
2. Haven't you noticed that Bards in this game don't actually sing? They play a lute. No need to stop to breath.
3. Get over PvP. The instant effect of Capering is about the only thing Virtuoso II has going for it. Whether it's OP in PvP is, and will always be, irrelevant.
Only bad thing here... is everyone quoting him. Do you know how hard it is to read your responses and try to keep from stabbing myself in my eyes...???
Timers seperate would be awesome.

aren't jokes considered a performance as well?
