Since we probably going to necro this every Mabar, and since I still don't believe this is one of the things that requires a huge amount of attention, how about we compromise and just put forward a suggestion that if we switch between goggles and helmet it will get rid of the effect?

Meh... I don't really care for them... But whatever... They should be removed when you zone...

I actually play DDO as a game - and go out to bars and such to check out the female bums. DDO does a poor job at best of accurately representing the female figure - but whatever works for ya

I don't, but I recognize that being a straight male normally includes recognizing anything vaguely female-shaped as a mating opportunity evaluation moment....these moments inspired the earliest human art....like the Venus of Hohle Fels...some 40k years ago.

Even when I was single, though, I tended to refrain from ogling women as I felt is was disrepectful unless there was a pole and dancing involved. Like you said, though, whatever works for ya.

When I posted in the thread, it was only a little over a couple weeks since the most recent post in it, I couldn't see any other relevant threads, and I didn't see a need to start a new thread for an existing topic. I'm not sure 'necro' comments are warranted.

Barkskin and the like are different because they're practical things that have practical value in playing the game. I'd prefer if they didn't override my appearance, but they can be tolerated when necessary because they bring something productive to actually playing the game -- and among friends you can arrange to get things done without them.

The pumpkin head is distracting in a way that strongly detracts from my (and my friends') play experience, with absolutely no beneficial effect. We don't find it fun, we don't find it funny, and it's other people being given the ability to intrude on our play experience without us having reasonable recourse. To us, this is visually analogous to someone joining a group and constantly emitting loud or obnoxious sounds on voice chat. You can turn off voice chat, you can kick him from the group, or if you're not lead you can leave the goup to find or form another. For this? You can only wait.

I understand not everyone has trouble with it, but I ask that those of you who don't have trouble try to understand that some of us do.

All I want is some practical means of removing it so I can continue with actually playing the game without having to burn money on it. On zone, on logout, or some other way of manually removing it.

    Something. Please.

Does this mean I shouldn't be casting stoneskin and barkskin on my party members?

Or on random people running around the harbor ?

Have they indicated whether they care? If not, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't.

    I personally believe no.

Of course, I've had to deal with a lot of "buff griefing" in other games, as well.. including buffs that had significant downsides, such as negatively impacting my ability to control the character, to the point where I literally had to sit and wait for the buff to expire before I could play, because I couldn't move properly.

So I have a pretty strong opinion about this.

I fail to see what this has to do with a 10-minute pumpkin head that has no other impact on your character, and can be removed with either a) potion of party ****er, b) dispel, or c) death.

    a) costs store points

    b) not available to us (though I wasn't aware that could work if it was available, none of my research suggested that was so)

    c) What, we should go jump off of the cliff in the harbor? Is this a serious suggestion?

Edit: Sure. Whatever. I went and drowned myself in the harbor.

I really don't understand why people think this is a sensible situation.

Default I know it's old but

When I'm on my cleric or my wizard, and especialy in a raid group:
Me: "everyone get as close as possible to each other for some mass buffs."
    *Everyone gets super close*
Me: *Throws a pumpkin grenade at everyone (One does the job, if done currectly)* "There! You're buffed!"
*Party chat gets flooded with "lol's" and stuff*

Seriously, LIGHTEN UP, it's funny to look at, and it wears off after 10 minutes!

Yep this idea works although I had to cast twice to remove the mask. Bronco is right.

He may have been right 6 years ago, you mean. Check the date of his post, oh great Thread Necromancer!
