I know the idea of a barb is to kill everything before it gets to them, but I was wondering what to do with a two handed half orc build and dex. Should I leave it at base 8 and get items and tomes for the +2 dex bonus on chain? Or should I attempt to put some points into dex on startup for extra ac from dex bonus.

IMO - Barbs can safely ignore DEX for the most part unless you are planning to dual wield/pick up evasion. Since you are a two-handed Barb, you should be fine ignoring DEX.
You’ll level pretty quickly through the levels where AC makes much of a difference.Sarlona

I'd only bother if taking a Rogue splash. Otherwise, your defense is a very strong offense (and hit points, and damage reduction). Focus on smashing.

Cool thanks. I had a dual wielder with 17 dex, and had made a warforged two hander recently, but with half orc showing up I wanted to hold on making the two hander. I've just never had a clear understanding of the relation of AC and barbs since when raging they lose some AC, and it's pretty low to start with. So, just start out with 8 and get +2 tome and items to break +2 dex bonus?
