Stuck on the Loading Screen and more besides...

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but after booting up the client and downloading the new material today I tried to log in to play. Took my client a while to connect, but it did and the screen where I should have been able to see my characters was black, entirely so, so much that there was nothing in the main window to see. The character menu down the side was visible however, so I selected one of them and hit Enter. At which point I got the "Welcome to Eberron" loading screen adn thats all I saw, that screen sitting there doing nothing, as the status bar did not move at all. I've tried several times now (and with different characters) and each time the exact same result.

If a Dev is reading this please help as I truly have no idea what to do to resolve this issue.

I am having the same exact issue. Maybe due to everyone downloading it at the same time?

well its better than "program cant start because d3dx9_42.dll is missing try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

All I get is exceptions at log in and then a crash. Can anyone advise? I downloaded the update.
Error: Resource string not found. Anyone having the same issue?

I'm going to ask the obvious question but have you tried restarting your computers?

thanks ddo, at least we get to enjoy trying to figure out how to play, being stuck in loading screen, once again another smooth update . .. just tell me what i need to pay to make this work, it's not like the money i feed into ddo supports you guys . . ..

Same. Downloaded update. Selected server. Selected toon. Stuck now for 20 minutes on the "Welcome" loading screen. Bar doesnt move.

I love the one step foward, two steps back approach Turbine!

I was about to post the same issue... but seems other people are experiencing the same things! Must be the content!

Maybe we have to download the higher quality version of the game to view the characters and get past the loading screen?

I was able to download the update. when I went to play, said missing an exe file to redownload or reinstall. I do both and now unable to update at all.

sadly i see way to much of this. i play several online games. time to cancel account.
