Posted these around the forum so may as well put them in their proper place. All builds are 34 pt, to change to 32 pt drop a build point from con. No PL included as mine was a TR from a Barb. All specced for max DPS.

what about just taking the "monster" build and appropriately enough, applying it to a horc? my current monster build does pretty **** well - just lacks self healing. im either going to roll up a self healing/healing amped ranger horc or just another monster horc. anybody have input on that one?

the monster build was only good ages ago because of it's ac potential, as far as dps this "blitz" build destroys it AND has self-healing.

id lvl it diff tho and get the PL berserkers fury if tr from barb. id go 1 rog, 12ftr, 6barb, 1 rog and max umd and intim and gain 4 to all rog skills. but i dont worry bout the leveling process since ill be piking from 8-20 and soloing on my other accounts sorc

Nah, the Monster build was good due to a great DPS-synergy of Tempest I, the Kensai II Strength and bonuses, a copious amount of Haste boost, Fighter feats, Ram's and a sprinkle of F.E for bosses. And had some defense as well with OK Monk-derived AC and Evasion.

Kensai II is still an awsome fundament for a multiclassed DPS build, but now that Tempest I has been nerfed so hard DPS-wise 6 levels of rangers is just not the best "extra ingredient" for DPS multiclasses anymore.

considering that none add to dps, and these builds show how to max dps, it is really up to you what to do? clearly maxing umd/intim is generally the route to go, keep in mind horc with 6 int = 1 skill point and eating a +2 int tome at 7 still = 1 skill point for builds with only 1 pt per lvl like fighter/paladin/cleric/fvs etc...

I have been working on the blitz HO and I like it so far got him to lvl 14. I took THF rather than 2wf and took falchion as my weapon of choice crits 18-20 and it works well.

Make sure you're twitching to get the maximum power out of the build.

It's pretty common to see someone roll a DPS build and then not twitch, rendering the builds main focus worthless.

I'm not sure I understand why you mention twitching here.

All three of your builds are TWF and Blitz is also TWF. Twitching don't work with no TWF.

What bothers me is when I see someone spend three feats on THF and then twitch so that they end up throwing away three feats worth of increased damage.

He mentioned that he went THF instead of TWF is why I mentioned twitch. Good job with the reading.


When you have enough targets around you and are not auto crit you will make up enough damage from glancing blows to make the feats worthwhile. As these builds are max DPS they must be able to cater to multiple circumstances, taking the feats allows the build to do this.


What bothers me is a player using a heavily focused build and then playing it like they've just come off Korthos.

I took the glancing blow line and with my intim around 33-34 depending on items he works well......also took glancing blow line for the affects.

Umd is now 23.5 should finish around 28 or so with a gh

Level progression is your choice.

I use CSW pots early on and hirelings later so I have no use for low level UMD. Taking the Rogue level earlier also lowers your to hit along with putting off prestige enhancements.

However if you want the extra UMD go for it.

was thinking about taking the umd skill focus............for the 3 extra making it 31 since intim will be less affective at higher lvls. Always good to use items that have umd which i other wise wont be able to use at higher lvls.
