But if you are talking pure max xp possible, then you are wrong. The very best option for max xp is running elite till it is at extreme repition and then normal/hard/casual (in any order for the last 3). You still get the full xp for completing (plus bonus) when it is the first time on each difficulty.

Also, don't forget that all optionals get thier own xp repetition counters (that is only incremented when they are completed) and is a muliplier based on base XP for the quest (not based on how much you are getting after repetition penalties) and as a result, those quests with high XP optionals (some are >= 40% of base XP), might even be useful to keep running on elite after you don't get xp for the quest just to complete the optionals. This is rare but since you might not have to complete the quest to get the optional, it reduces your run time in the quest for those times you are only lookin for optionals.
What he is talking about in this case is as a TR the most efficient way to run is banking XP and doing levels of quests 1 lower than your character level as as to not take an overleveled xp hit.

Thus take quest <blah>. Its level; X on normal, (X+1) on hard, (X+2) on elite. Thus you run it on normal 4-5 times when you are only 1 level above it saving your first time hard and elite for when you level up so those increases are now only 1 level lower than you. If you ran it first on elite for the 4-5 runs (still staying 1 level over the now increased level of the quest) you would be taking a -20% hit on the normal run and -10% on the hard run.

The best uses of elite first is on quests that you dont want to run twice just for the favor; hard -> elite, or if everyone is on their characters first Raid run and you want elite for the increased drop without needed to do hard first (Stormreaver is the big one that comes to mind).

    Default Overlooked, but not good...

With Update 7, the guild vendor in House K no longer offers improved prices. It used to be about 15% before mods, now it is only the 10% you'd find at any bar around.

Sorry! I don't want any adventures, thank you. Not Today. Good morning! But please come to tea -any time you like! Why not tomorrow? Good bye!

They said this was unintentional and is being looked at.

Didn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but the damage bonus from your strength now shows correctly when examining a weapon.

I'm a big fan of the work with the Recall/Finish Out button that they did. Typically if I'm in a wilderness area and I want to recall, I have to toggle the UI from transparent to solid in order to get at the Recall button. Then, I have to toggle back before the recall finishes, if I remember to.

Now, with Update 7, the Recall button is there even if you've tranparentified the objectives. Very cool! And I'm not sure I even read that change on the update notes.

Definitely the fix to the problem where you had to go to a bar every time you logged in to get back turns/mana/hp from having your items unequipped/requipped automatically. That was a huge.

    Thumbs up Overlooked so far

One great change for newer rogues is the "eye beam" to the trap box location after a search. Doesn't matter much to vets who've memorized every trap location in the game, but for new players it can be frustrating to do a search for a trap box and miss the location because it's behind a door, pillar or around a corner and they don't see the "waves" from it. It's frustrating to have to wander around looking for a trap that may just be in the next room.

since day 1 when I started playing in 2006 the toolbars could be easily moved in combat (i use a mouse) and all items could be pulled off or switched/moved on a toolbar even if locked.

Now, some 4 1/2 years later it is fixed.

wow. I played for the first time in a few weeks and had to tell myself I did not have to unlock/lock bars to prevent one part of this issue.

and to not have the bars move at all...wow.

Since they are starting to work on the old bugs from a long time ago.... I think some of those old bugs are now starting to get looked at.

    wow.

I'd certainly do the first 3 in Korthos on elite only with the possible exception of storehouse (which can be zerged fast enough to be worth running multiple times). Cannith Crystal simply isn't worth the time/xp commitment. And it's not the only quest not worth it. It will be very nice to be able to run many quests once and call it done.
almost makes me want to level now..

Doing a quest just once on elite, and not repeating any, gets you a double TR to level very very fast. And tons of favor.

The biggest downside to doing it the elite only way was that you had to find people to open elite..now you can just run it. This will make leveling uber fast and fun for any TR

Well, any TR that is smart enough to do it that way..

    edit:

I gotta disagree with you. If you like repeating things ad naseum, yea, then that way is for you. Until you try to just blow through all quests, level by level, on elite only, and only run once, you won't understand how insane it is.

There is no way, even with a double TR to run out of content for xp that way...and never get bored too. By the time you are 10th level, you will still be doing 7th level quests.

And holding back on levels...I never could understand that. My higher level toon will kill things faster than one two levels lower.

go the all elite, all quests, once style...it is great for small groups also..absolute blast. And you never get tired of the content.

    (skip stealthy repo though)

Meh only reason to do elite when noone in the group has done hard is for favor. Most people have already done all low level stuff on their main favor toon
Pain to bring in your main favor character every time, and even the main favor character doesn't help you on chain quests. Opening on elite is a HUGE perk for VIP.

One of my absolute favorite things in U7 is the fantastic voice work in The Chronoscope. The voiceovers weren't up on Lammania, so I heard it for the first time last night and was blown away. I like the DM voice just fine, but Turbine has added additional voices for various characters and NPCs in there and it's just great. Ever since Korthos I've been wanting to hear more character voice-work while questing and I hope The Chronoscope points to what we'll be seeing in the future. Really great stuff.

I agree, I'd even take it a step further... spending the money and getting all the important quest text in the game done with voice talent, would eliminate that "Oh **** I can't read all this everyones already inside <click spare me the details>" feeling when you're doing a quest for the first time and want to know whats going on but feel way too rushed to read anything.

Add an option check box to turn the quest text voice overs off (for those that would invariably object to it) and boom no more quests where I've done it 4 or 5 times before I read the actual text with a slow group while waiting for someone "oh so that's why that happens" or "Hmmm so I wonder W.T.F. there's a dragon in this bank vault anyway...

IMO this rushed feeling is turning off a lot of new players... it's why you see LFM's with "team work, no rushing" every once in a while... You know for every player that will put that in an LFM there's 20 more who feel the same but lose interest, never find that group, or solo themselves into disinterest...

The new raid is a great example of where this would help... because once past the intro there's plenty of text to understand whats going on.... but no one wants to read it, and "at level" the PUG's are pure unadulterated TRAIN WRECKS.

    lol, +1 Rep for you!

I'm happy that they fixed the ddo store purchased bank slots. I almost purchased the extra character/shared slots but read that they were broken when TRing (3rd life here). I will buy them now. Especially nice to be able to move low level junk more efficiently between my main and my mules.
