    Default Auction House Posting

I haven't been able to post anything in the Auction House for the last several days. I can put the item in the appropriate slot but the posting button is grayed out and no matter what I try it seems to have no effect. Is anyone else having this problem? I've searched the threads on the Forum but can not find any other postings.

Any speculation whether this is going reduce or increase prices???
I sure hope it brings prices back to earth. I remember when Chipmunk funks wer about 15k plat. Now they are 150k plat!!! That has only been within the last 6 months!!!!
News to them, coal chamber is an easy farm for funks.

AH prices became ridiculous once they listed plat prices in lieu of gold. Maybe AH posters are just hoping to find a newb that will pay the absurd price because the numbers 'look' like they used to when gold was used or what.

No one i know would ever pay that much, but newer folks may just think those prices are normal. All we can do is not buy those types of things Yuda.

Won't change the prices in the least. It adds the search feature which is the biggest change to the AH. People will still post stuff at the inflated prices.

The things that allow everyone to post at inflated prices are the people who pay those prices for whatever reason. Whether they don't feel like farming, in a rush, and so forth, there are always people with too much plat since it's so easy to get.

I know people who bought on AH after the gold to plat change thinking they were getting a deal on the gold price only to realize after buyout it was plat.

1: Stand next to the AH guy and spamming general chat with " I can't believe there is a Vibrant Purple Ioun Stone on the AH for 7k plat buyout"

2: Watch everyone come running to the empty AH guy

    3:Profit ????

That's still 5,750 more plat buyout then the one I bought. I still imagine the look on their face trying to cancel the auction but it was bought out in seconds of it being up.

I did this after they changed it. Saw a Bloodstone for 800000, even though I had been told about the gold to plat change on the AH I bought it in a moment of stupidity then realized when I couldn't buy the next one that it was in plat and I didn't have enough.

Yeah it happens. Worst I EVER heard was a guildie buying the GEM Bloodstone on the AH for a few hundred thousand plat buyout thinking they were getting the actual Bloodstone Trinket.

    It's definitely going to increase.

    Look at it this way,

Normally those who don't know the average price of an item will search for such items on the AH and make a price around that value. Now with the reference price gone and the AH literally wiped, the first 100 people who post an item for sale will set the base value of that item forever (until the economy collapses or prices run too high).

With a clean slate, by setting Large Devil Scales for say 3 mil plat (as an example only), you'd think that it was that price all along.
In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.

Yeah, I have seem people do that. Luckily since I paid 800k plat I actually got a real Bloodstone.

I feel compelled to use it always now, waste of money if I switch it out for ANYTHING!!!!

So the fact that it wasn't listed under trinkets didn't give it away?

And that's the kicker of the joke till this day. Why you buying a bloodstone if its not under trinkets. I think it all comes down to just paying attention.

Yeah definately. I'm even guilty of it when I'm in a rush. Go to make a greensteel blank. Nobody in guild on. Need that twig. Don't feel like looking through 60 pages of ingredients. First twig I see no matter buyout I buy.

What makes it bad is the people who actually base there things OFF the ah. AH is there for convenience not as a price standard.

Why is it they are list-able in the first place, I mean it's not like they do anything but take up precious space To waste the AH space on gems seems sort of wasteful.
