that gives one more d6 of sneak attack. another level of fighter might be worth it but i fit in all the feats i wanted with that split.

Well the hard things to get away from regarding ranger12/x/x are the ability to keep DEX down to 13 when dual-wielding because of the free greater two-weapon fighting feat and the Evasion ability rangers are granted at level nine, which is very attractive if avoiding a splash of rogue or monk in order to keep BAB 20.

I went 12 Ranger/7 Fighter/ 1 Rogue personally. I wanted Fighter Toughness/Haste Boost III and UMD, and trap skills.

You build ranger 12 for tempest II as that is currently the only way to get 100% off hand proc.

It also provides plenty of self buffs, such as rams might, barkskin and elemental resistances.

13/7 is another option since 13 ranger opens Favored Enemy Damage IV and Favored Enemy Defense III

The only problem is.. even when u have rams running and is fighting your favoured enemies your still doing less output then a similar split with evasion. Being able to self resist(without items) is nice but to be able to throw a 200hp heal in 0.3s is king.

ChaosEmperorDragon -> low dex? Yes, thats uber with evasion.

    I recently finished levelling a 15 ranger / 4 fighter / 1 rogue

I wanted tempest II for the 100% offhand proc. I did the 3 extra levels of Ranger not only for the +2 / additional favored enemy, but also for FOM. Fighter 4 gives 3 extra feats, and opens up haste II / toughness II / strategy II -- and if you're not going kensai II, I only see a slight benefit in kensai I given the pre-reqs.

I like the build so far, but haven't played it enough at cap to come to a verdict on it.

Just wanted to ask on this, i'm currently levelling a WF ranger 12/barb 6/fighter 2 (currently 8/2/2) and he's pretty brutal, with nice hp's, good saves...

I read up on "The Monster" & "Egomaniac" builds & they seemed like really really good burst DPS toons, with proven statistics. My build was more about sustained DPS (Khopesh, tempest 2 (100% off hand proc), FB 1, max str & 13 dex for dodge)

    What are the main limitations?
From my experience playing Brotix, its only the fact he's wf (divine healing) & doesn't yet have evasion (next level)

Not to derail the thread away, but i'ld just like some input - it may also be relivant to the OP

    Cheers
