Attack speed & sequences

OK, I've been looking everywhere, but I can't seem to find an up to date source on the attack speeds post update 5.

DDOwiki says there's still an increase in attack speed on BAB 10,15 and 20, but I think this might be old information (I believe they changed it to that in update 2, but removed that when they altered two weapon fighting).
Beating the dummy with a BAB 9, 15 and 20 all seemed to result in 86.5 attacks per minute for me. (I used a single dagger without haste buffs, but I don't think style or weapon still matters, does it?)

Is there really a difference?

I hate the weapon attack speed game mechanic Turbine inplemented in both DDO and LOTRO.

Unfortunately every 1h weapon attacks at the same speed, every 2h weapon (excluding staff) attack at the same speed. Its boring and it destroys options.

Weapons should be balanced with there crit range, crit multiplier, base damage, reach, and speed.

In PnP weapon speed was removed in 3rd Edition, I played the 1st and 2nd varients and I understood the desire to remvove that from the game. However this isn't PnP its DDO, and as a result I believe that the combat system should have accounted for more.

This is the one aspect that I wish Turbine would re-investigate. For one it would at the very least open the door to more variety of builds, and could help combat the huge auto-crit damage variance currently present in the game.

I personally think they could've strayed even more and had weapon enhancments affect speed. For example weighted could slow down the weapon speed, but crit multiplier increases... Things like that.

In short you are correct, excluding class, different weapons of the same style (1h,2h,staff,handwraps), all attack the same speed.
