Does anyone know what the formula is for Guild renown Decay? Is the formula account based or character based?
Does anyone know what the formula is for Guild renown Decay? Is the formula account based or character based?
Afaik it only applies after lvl 25 and is account-based.
Dev linking the DDOWiki, gotta love it!
So am I understanding it right...find the multiplier for your guild level and multiply by the number of accounts (soon to be "active" accounts in U7), and that's your decay rate?
So a level 47 guild decays at 77 renown per account? Or am I completely misreading the wiki?

That section is extremely poorly written, and somewhat meandering. Assuming it isn't leaving anything out, 77.867250 would be the level-based multiplier, and then for your accounts, you add ten.
So if your level 47 guild had, say, 50 unique accounts in it, this document would suggest 77.867250 * 60, for a decay of 4672.035.
Most likely, dropping fractions, for a final decay of 4672.
Even the devs tell you to RTFM.

Your not on a player account your on a develop account there is a BIG difference.
Fansites are common with things like that sure but when a developer links something like that to me it implies that the people who work on the game are not as knowledgable as they should be.
BTW thanks for the neg reps, I've been getting way too many pos reps lately and i like seeing a bit of red mixed in with the greens.
No, it implies that the developers are aware that the players have derived information on the game that isn't publically released, and that they see no reason to repost an extensive explaination of mathematics that's already accurately portrayed on the web, since its both extra work and this allows them to throw kudos to the players/website in question.
Your red dots are well deserved. And, here, sir, have another!
Thats what it implies to you. Not to me. And if we go with your way that means there should be no point for tooltips or hints ingame. Since they are listed elsewhere on other sites. Or heck even the official DDO compendium. Why put things there when 'other' sites can do it instead.
And DEV's have publicly released the info multiple times in multiple threads before. dev tracker is your friend.
Like I said I don't mind red dots like others. I actually like Red and wish I got many many more.

Phax, thank you for being one of the devs that continues to come in to the forums and contribute. We know that you do this on your own and that it isn't part of your job description and we very much apprecaite it. I think its also great that you are looking at the wiki and refer to it when appropriate. It's a great resource, and your referal helps others see the value in the wiki.
Why would he make a long post duplicating what is already published in a public forum? It was pretty wise to link to the wiki.
And since you enjoy it, I'll add to your neg rep for this post. You are behaving in a trollish way and insulting a dev who is just trying to help and provided the information requested with his link.
Hmm, a Dev pointing players to the DDO-Wiki... Seems like a relyl good idea to me.. The Dev is not only acknowledging that players do work things out for themselves, and can be fairly accurate.. But also ENCOURAGING players to go read the Wiki and LEARN something more about the game, as well as maybe teachign them the usefulness of the Wiki and the vast amount of game info that's there...
Have another red dot for being arrogant and clueless.
If wanting a DEV to not link to outside places and WANTING them to post on there own forum/compendium is arrogant and clueless then I will be that. They can encourage fansites without telling them to go to them to find 'official' explanations.
I've always liked your posts but saying I am insulting a dev when I asked a question it seems like you the one who is insulting.
When I recharge I have a red dot for you... your suggestion is that Phax should waste his time retyping information that is readily available elsewhere is not only dumb but rude and condescending. Post like this are why devs don't post or in the proper vernacular...
This is why we can't have nice things.
“If at first you don't succeed, keep on sucking till you do succeed.”
I never once stated he should re-post anything. And to whomever SAID they should I agree it is dumb, rude and condescending. He could have easily linked a DEV post that is READILY AVAILABLE where it already is stated.
If posts like this are why they don't post in the proper vernacular then that is how it should be.
