Why do u Play a Cleric if u dont want to heal?

Like the title says and Why do u join my if it says no battlecleris,only pure healer.Why do u tell me in mid quest that u have only 400 max sp at lvl 8 ?why do u tell that u wont heal the party coz u say a cleric dont needs to heal ? Well today ive made a lfm for stormcleave outpost on elite ,and like nearly every day it filled REALY slow ,so after waiting an half-hour i had 4 more ppl in my party (3 dps and 1 caster) ive changed the lfm and wrote :Stormcleave Outpost On Elite Need a Pure Healer NO BATTLECLERICS.And after waiting again 10 mins ive got a join request from a lvl 8 cleric ,the first thing ive done is asking him "Are you a pure Healer?that means you are not a battlecleric!" and he said :"sure im not a battlecleric " well ive accepted. After like 3 mins in the quest ive asked : Hey cleric can you use yor healing abilitys and mind healing us?( Coz the whole Party was at nearly 0 hp) then he said : Dont tell me what to do .So we needed to do it without any heals . After 15 mins Everyone was dead and ive asked the cleric : Why do u play a cleric if u dont want to heal? Coz i like theire melee abilitys he answered.well then i just pressed ESC and clicked on Quit and then ive turned off my computer

on a sidenote, how many sp are you supposed to have on lvl 8?

and if you need healing after 3 mins inquest and wipe after 15, youre in the wrong quest anyway. or pick a difficulty you can handle...

A waste ? Ive runned it on elite already before with a healbot ,we had no deaths and we finished it in 30 mins

+1 ... new players have hard time understanding this .. but later u will see .. There should not ever be such a thing as PURE healer .. there are also no Trapmonkeys and no dps or tanks in ddo.
Every character can do at LEAST two things at once and excel at them.

I play a WF favored soul hes excellent in melee and still has 700 mana to properly heal at lvl 6 but when i am with a bunch of people somewhere on ogres and one ogre triple swing the whole party to 1/3 ( killing the caster) and they starts shouting heal us heal us i am like " Are u ***** kidding me?) Most people need whats called a "pure" healer coz they play ... well not good diplomatically said.

Well that isn't an issue of a battle cleric or pure healer, that's an issue of a bad cleric.

Don't write battle clerics off as healers.

I play 4 different battle clerics and have 2 more I'm working on and, with the exception of 1 of them, they can all heal effectively in any quest, all raids and most epics (some while fighting).

There are a few people who play on Sarlona who play battle clerics very well and it is all about knowing when to fight, when to heal and when to pray.

So I ask once more, don't write off battle clerics all together, just get an idea of which ones are the good ones and which should stick to melee types if they want to melee.

A pure healer is a waste of a party spot. And you should be able to run that on elite in 30 minutes without a healer unless you are a party of gimps.

This is a whole pandora's box type topic, as not every person who plays a cleric or favored soul, plays them as a "healer". That being said and to stick with the OP, your lfm clearly identified you needed a healing cleric, and you even sent a tell to said cleric to confirm this (as we know many people click on lfm's without reading a word). There is no reason he shouldn't have been healing at all.

However, if within 3 minutes of a quest, if you are all nearly dead, then you have no business being in the quest, as you either (a) have a Leeroy Jenkins type in the quest aggroing unncessary mobs and bringing them back to the group, or (b) more likely your group was woefully unprepared to handle the quest on elite. If the latter was the case, which it probably was since you didn't say someone went Leeroy on you, then perhaps the cleric saw this and recognized this was the case and wrote the group off as a no way will this group ever make it through this quest without me spending resources I have no intention spending on a level 8 pug that's way over their head.

People who play healers also want to enjoy their game time, and while their role may include healing you, they are not to blame for other player's ineptitude and total lack of self sufficiency.

Here is your answer. You want a healbot, not a cleric. So next time you'll know to just take a healbot with you and not waste 30 minutes filling your group.

A good battle cleric can both fight and heal an entire party.

What you got wasn't a battle cleric. At best it was a fighter masquerading as a cleric.

More likely though, you got a vet battle cleric who was teaching you a lesson in self-sufficiency.

If you're needing that much healing after the first encounter, you do need to back off and try a lower difficulty.

Healing between encounters shouldn't be ONLY the cleric's responsibility. Lots of other classes can use wands.

And speaking of consumables, if you went through before with a "healbot" what actually was happening was the cleric with you spent thousands of plat on wands, scrolls, or mnemonic pots (or real money on the pots). Although that made it easy on you, overall the cleric lost money on the venture.

40hp? So well within your own ability to self heal with a couple pots. If you died, you killed yourself.

i've a better idea. he could roll a healbot himself and be forced to run 30 stormcleaves back to back with horrible melee's that take 40 damage a hit...

Ive i lost 40 hitpoints and my max hp is 220 buffed that means if i lose 40 hp im not near death
