What you should do, if oponents provide that much trouble, is perhaps start looking into a way to take care of your own healing.
The cleric (if he's worth anything) will be there to cover for you, when it gets really rough, but you'd be surprised at how much you can handle yourself, once you quaff a heroism potion, a rage potion, a haste potion, etc etc...You could perhaps look into ways to avoid the triplehit combo those trolls do, if you feel you're taking too much damage. Try running in, swinging, running out, back in, and so on. Find ways of fighting that work for you. If you see a group of five bullies on a marketplace somewhere and you wanted to teach them a lesson somehow, would you go 'yaaaaaaaar', and storm in the middle of the lot of them? I doubt it. You'd prepare. This is no different, really.
What you have as philosophy, is that a cleric's manabar should be sufficient to provide healing in between shrines. Let me clear something up for you. If your whole group is near death after a group of five(ish) trolls, that's neeeever going to happen. Try making a cleric, group with a couple of new players that ask for a healer in level 10 quests and below, see what happens. That one cleric that carried your asses before, likely used wands and potions, to keep you all up. Why should he use money, while you save yours for weapons you can buy from the AH later. Give a little, take a little.
