open the character sheet ingame. go to the feats tab. drag lay on hands to your hotbar. use it if needs be.

    the end

    Heyhey!

The stuff that comes with a class for free, like the paladin's lay on hands, are usually granted as feats for your character. Hit "C" to open your character window, if your settings are still at default, and browse through your feat window. You should find the lay on hands ability there, ready to be dragged to your hotbar!

Your +1 lay on hands is actually called an enhancement, for future reference.

    Happy healing!

Their are two types of abilities. Passive ones (octagonal icon), that give you an effect simply for having them, and active ones (square icon) that only function when you activate them.

    Examples of passive abilities:
    -Heroic Durability
    -Divine Health
    -Toughness
    -Bulwark of Good

    Examples of active abilities:
    -Defensive Fighting
    -Power Attack
    -Lay On Hands
    -Paladin Armor Boost I

In order to use an active ability you have to drag it to a hotbar and press the corresponding key/click it directly. Some activated abilities will stay active (Power Attack, metamagic feats) unless you turn them off somehow, while others have an instant or short-duration effect.

When you gain new abilities, whether from leveling up as class/race granted abilities, or from feats or enhancements, check to see whether it is an active or passive ability.

Hey, I want to know if any % bonus to healing spells such as divine blessing (40% on 4th level or less) also applies to LOH?? Or only on paladin heal spells?

Going to take a leap here (working off the top of my head) - But the amount of healing you receive from LOH is calculated as follows:
    ( 10 + Paladin level ) x Charisma modifier
No potion or item ability modifier is applied to a LOH - to get a larger value try to achieve the largest Charisma score you can to raise your modifier.

that sounds about right, but it doesnt quite make sense. my level 20 pally with a 24 cha (+7) with your forumla should be (10 + 20 = 30) x 7 = 210.

when i use it in game it heals 252 no variance, what does that tell you?

not sure if the problem is with the formula or other enhancments i have on the char.

    The formula is correct:

Looks like you are getting a 20% boost from something. Do you happen to have pali dev II? Maybe that's boosting it.

This is incorrect as healing amp items, aps, and ship buffs apply to increase loh.

by the way: you are a newbie, but not a noob. You ask questions on the forums that's kind of advanced.

Healing amplification and spell enhancers are two entirely different things.

The spell enhancers are feats like maximize, empower, empower healing, heighten, etc..., but also potency or efficacy items. Enhancers like these increase the power of the spell you want to cast.

Healing amplification affects incoming healing, and is not tied to any spell whatsoever.

Think of it like a form of healing handover that happens.
Your spell casts, your enhancers are applied, and you arrive at a fixed number. In the case of LOH, no enhancer applies, so it's just your raw formula.
The spell goes through, arrives at your character, and starts the healing process. It takes the raw number it gets from the spell, and applies your healing amplification to it. You are then healed for this amount.

    Healing amp affects LoH.
Devotion enhancements and items, and metamagic feats do not.
