    Default Auction House Limit?

I was about to go to bed last night when I saw that my bid of 900k plat was outbid to 1.5 mil on one of those new series spell absorbing ioun stones. It's the only one in the AH on Orien and I've been waiting a while to get one. I thought okay, I'd pay about 2 mil for it but wanted to go to bed. I only had 1.4 mil cash but I got a spell storing ring and ring of the ancestors that I'd dump for at least another 1.25 mil, probably more, and be able to bid what I wanted. But I thought meh, nobody's gonna outbid that and I'm sleepy and it's a 3 day auction so no rush. Turns out today someone bid it up to 2.1 mil. I thought that was an odd increment but I was gonna outbid them with 2.2 but as I was trying to sell my rings, I found out there's some sort of magical limit of 2.1 mil for bids. WHY?!?!?! This is so horribly unfair. If I knew there was some auto-win limit, I'd have sold my rings last night and bid 2.1 mil myself. That seems like absolute, textbook cheating that someone can just sit on an auction and auto-win by bidding the limit when other people are willing to outbid them. Either remove the limit or make it a bit more common knowledge that there is one so all the rich ppl out there have an even chance to get their little "first in wins" max bid and lock everyone else out like a jerk.
By the way, is there some person to person trade limit I should know about too?
And while we're on the topic, I've heard allllll kinds of crazy stories about what quests and chests can and can't drop the lavender ioun stone. What's the real story on it so I can go get my own? :P

Nice wall of text, cool story bro.

Auction houses have a plat limit, also have a plat limit when you are posting a buyout price. Don't know why, I'm sure someone does.

To answer your actual question, I quote myself.

oh, you don't like long text? Then I guess:
"Nice wall of text, cool story bro."
could have been shortened to "i'm lazy" or "Me angry, rude forum troll! RAWR!"
I'll let you get back to pretending you're the king of the forum now

I answered your question. Actually, both of them. I believe you meant to thank me, so I'll assume there was some sort of keyboard Tourette action going on.

Now you know about the AH limit. The item is gone to the max bidder - its over and done with. I've given you a (albeit brief) guide of where to possibly find said item. Go forth and farm.

And yes. Your lack of use of a carriage return is offensive to my eyes. I love long text - I have a great enjoyment of reading paperback novels, no surprise fantasy is my favorite genre. They ascribe to using paragraphs, and other literary preparation styles that are aesthetically pleasing and highly legible.

    Edit : You're welcome.

Every forum lurker starts the day off with a tall glass of Hatorade. I do agree however that there should be a small auction house NPC in the market who would kindly explain the ins and outs of said auction house.

No good deed goes unpunished. Shame you help a guy out DL and all he can do is cop an attitude with ya. Shame because you did offer up answers to his questions.....but he is obviously too but hurt to grasp that not only did you answer his question but even tried to help him with his posting style and even where to find what he desires. Some people are just ingrates.

    /hob. That was a +1 post.
