I was about to go to bed last night when I saw that my bid of 900k plat was outbid to 1.5 mil on one of those new series spell absorbing ioun stones. It's the only one in the AH on Orien and I've been waiting a while to get one. I thought okay, I'd pay about 2 mil for it but wanted to go to bed. I only had 1.4 mil cash but I got a spell storing ring and ring of the ancestors that I'd dump for at least another 1.25 mil, probably more, and be able to bid what I wanted. But I thought meh, nobody's gonna outbid that and I'm sleepy and it's a 3 day auction so no rush. Turns out today someone bid it up to 2.1 mil. I thought that was an odd increment but I was gonna outbid them with 2.2 but as I was trying to sell my rings, I found out there's some sort of magical limit of 2.1 mil for bids. WHY?!?!?! This is so horribly unfair. If I knew there was some auto-win limit, I'd have sold my rings last night and bid 2.1 mil myself. That seems like absolute, textbook cheating that someone can just sit on an auction and auto-win by bidding the limit when other people are willing to outbid them. Either remove the limit or make it a bit more common knowledge that there is one so all the rich ppl out there have an even chance to get their little "first in wins" max bid and lock everyone else out like a jerk.
By the way, is there some person to person trade limit I should know about too?
And while we're on the topic, I've heard allllll kinds of crazy stories about what quests and chests can and can't drop the lavender ioun stone. What's the real story on it so I can go get my own? :P
