Shield bash damage

Why doesn't the shield's enhancement bonus work with shield bash? You don't get the plus to either attack or damage despite the shield description saying Damage 1d6 + 5 (if you have a +5 shield). Only bonus you get is half your strength bonus to damage, so if you bash with a +5 shield, you do 1d6 + half str bonus and not 1d6 + 5 + str bonus.

It's no big deal really since shield bash is quite useless, but if Turbine ever buffs sword & board, they better make the shield enhancement bonus count too. I want to bash stuff with my epic Ward of Undeath.

I REALLY REALLY DONT understand why Turbine keeps hating on shield users... but thats just how things are. I mean they hate and hate on it...like shields killed their pet cat and crapped on their doorstep.
