    Default Peace

Since shared banks dropped, I've kept a large bag in my shared bank. This bag has every shroud ingredient I've ever lewted from 28 capped toons (7 active now). It had probably 800 ingredients in it right now.

    It goes like this.

    Run shroud
    Leave shroud
    Go to Meridia Bank
    Open bank
Attempt to pull bag from shared to inventory
    Wait
    Retry
    Wait
    Close bank
    Reopen
    Retry
    Wait
    Retry
    Wait
    Close bank
    Teleport to house K bank
    Open bank
    Notice how bag is gone

Bye, DDOers. I hope this doesn't happen to you.

    Default Oya.

Yes I submitted 2 tickets & a bug report. It doesn't matter. No reimbursement. I can't see farming stuff for years that can just go poof into the wind at any random given time.

    It's been fun, but ciao

Turbine really needs to do something to fix this. Too much frustration and too many people leaving game when they lose an ingredients bag stored in a bank.

    Unhappy Wow

    Sorry to hear it Symp.

I operate the same way with my ingredient bag, may have to review my SOP.

A good friend of mine, who is currently on a break (may be permanent), had his account hacked one night. He logged in one morning to find that around 8 of his 11 characters had been stripped down to their birthday suits. I'm not sure how he submitted a bug report/ticket or who was contacted but this was the message he pasted into our party chat (I saved it because it frustrated me so much):

"We apologize, but we do not see any changes on the account that would signify that it was hacked. Additionally, you have contacted the Account Management department, and we are unable to assist with in-game issues, such as characters and items."

He lost all his Green steel & ingredients as well. His friends helped him start over, making him blanks and passing ingredients, but obviously it didn't touch the surface of what he once had.

I'm sure if you stick around folks will chip in.

Stop doing that unless you want to lose it. This has been going on for a while now

@Symp. Later bud, I understand your frustration. Gluck in whatever you do man.

    Ouch hurtin for certain.

Might sound messed up but you should try moving a couple of things around in your inventory, once or twice now I've thought I lost something in my inventory but somehow it was stacked underneath something.

Usually happens when I'm lagging bad.

I was unaware of the bug....maybe they should fix it instead of spending time changing the location of places and things that are not broken. Something has to be done. Straight up.

Is it safe to put it in there for char transfer? I usually keep it on the last toon I crafted with...but I do throw it in when I swapp to a toon who needs to craft.

Yeah bugs like this need to be listed on the official known issues thread, which as of Oct 1 when Tarrant updated it there is nothing for it.

This bug is now to be referred to as the "make you quit" bug. I know I probably would too. Heck I contemplate it daily with no outside help. Maybe a sign to throw in the gauntlet for whatever reason.

Yup. I guess every player in the game is expected to scour these grief-laden forums in order to find every possible bug available.

Then they must study these bugs for hours on end, without once encountering them in the game themselves.

    PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

How about have a game where this ridiculous **** DOESN'T happen?

Expecting people to know about a bug that isn't common knowledge is laughable at best.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear this. Just on the off chance did you try going to a vendor/tavern and hitting the buy back tab. Sometimes when things get dropped they wind up in there. Key word sometimes. I dont have much ingred wise, as I have crapalicious luck there, but Id be willing to send some your way if you like. If me and others do, it will be something, hate to see you go over stupidity on Turbine's part. And I have read about this happening, but it wasnt imparted to me that this was a known bug, it always seemed like isolated cases during lag spikes.

Loads of other games dont have this problem, as far as I can tell (items just disappearing, not hacked accounts). Off the top of my head, Everquest 2 doesnt have this problem at all even though you tend to have hundreds of different ingrediants in one container. Hell, I'm pretty sure you cant get rid of the container without empty-ing it, or the ingreds get preserved until a new one is purchased or something like that...It never really came up.

Now that I think about it, Everquest 2 is years ahead of DDO in basically everything except "D&D-ness" (which it didn't even bother trying for, so that doesnt count) despite starting two years earlier. Everquest, which is five or six years older than DDo is probably still more advance. WoW probably doesnt have these kinds of problem either and, lets be honest, it has a much larger player base than all of the Everquests AND DDo combined (I still wont play if though.)

...Do the DDo developers not realize that other games had fixed the problems DDo hasn't even gotten yet? And that those problems are fixed relatively quickly (same month or same week, if not faster), instead of 4 or 8 months later, once the players have either learned to deal with it or started to desperately love it?

I think thats a little harsh. Symps a lot of things, but not a fool when it comes to this game. He may be a little out of touch, as are many others that dont read the forums, or have friends that read the forums a lot. Maybe, just maybe some people dont like the forums and actually avoid them. I dont think that makes them fools.

I hope that they are helping him as someone suggested. I know that if I were on your server, I'd absolutely send you some ingreds. to help make up for the loss.

To those of you who are wondering- you should not be putting your bag in the bank or mail for any reason until they clarify that this bug is fixed.

Another idea that I've heard is to not set your ingreds. bag to auto-collect. The reason behind that is if you loot something and it automatically goes in your bag, there is no record of it ever having been in your inventory... if there's a record of it having been in your inventory, you have a better chance of getting it replaced, so turn off the auto-collect, loot your stuff so it's in your inventory, then hit "gather".
