Arcane Archer starting stats

I'm going to make a pure Ranger Elven Arcane Archer, with 32 build points. tihocans feat list looks good, but I am not so happy with his stat spread as I want to go Str-based.
Since
16 Str
16 Dex
14 Con
Rest 8

is the bare minimum and leaves open 6 build points, i am wondering if I should go

1. 18 Str, rest as above
2. 17 Str, 17 Dex, 9 Wis
3. 16 Str, 18 Dex, 10 Wis

Any insights/opinions? My favorite atm is the 17/17 split.

str beeing your dmg stat i would go 18str/16dex

except dex is your to hit stat. hard to do more damage when you miss the mobs

Ranger Dex III, Elven Dex II and a +6 item will give me +11 Dex, i.e. with 17 base Dex in total 28 Dex (before tomes), giving at least +9 to hit. On my Rogue who started with 16/16, I never found ranged hit to be an issue.

My Mongolian Archer has only 16 str 16 dex and currently misses only on elite just because I was too silly to invest in Valenar Enhancements instead of the Elf Bow/DEx Enhancements and kept pew pew pew~ing in the dungeons even when manyshot is on cooldown.

So yes, 16/16 is fine or even better 18/16 (though getting +1 damage/+3 on crit is not worth the stat point loss in my opinion, better put it elsewhere )
