Default Reevaluate the number of kills required for XP bonus in quests w/ respawns

I'm requesting that players post their experience with such:

In quests with respawning mobs, have you been able to get Aggression-->Conquest without standing around slaying respawns (that is, progressing with the quest at a normal flow)?

Clearly, if you're zerging and avoiding a lot of fights, that data will not be relevant here.

Screenshots with kill counts would be exceptionally useful.

I think the two baselines I'd want to look at are the Chamber of Raiyum-de and VON5 ...

Also, while somewhat off-topic for this thread, it seems like a good place to also bring up the quests that have few secret doors, traps or breakables, and yet do not bestow XP bonuses when 100% of that objective is cleared (ie. quests with 2 traps that, when disabled, do not grant Ingenious Debilitation).

    Agreed. They are fairly excessive.

I can't recall how many respawns are needed in VoN 5 for Conquest, but I know that, at this point, I always have someone (usually me) hang out in the puzzle room killing WF while the group clears the west corridors and then takes down the traps in the lightning hall before rejoining the group (usually 25-50 kills in that time) and get Conquest shortly before the end of the quest.

I've never seen Conquest in Raiyum, even after spending 20 minutes killing respawning scorpions and having cleared everything else in the quest except the stuff below the breaking floors in the towers (cleared the whole bottom level and 3 of the collapsed floor rooms)--got Aggression for this. Can't recall final kill count.

For Chamber of Raiyum you need 348 kills to get conquest and the only way to reach that number is to kill lots of respawns.

First, let me thank you for moving this conversation to another thread.

Second, what Eladrin *may*, and I mean *may* have been meaning here is that the baseline XP for an adventure may be tweaked so that whether or not you've got Aggression/Onslaught/Conquest you've got XP appropriate for having completed that quest. It is possible that they assume you will never reach any of the three tiers of killing, and their XP, lets say it was originally 10,000 or so, was tailored to be a base XP of 12,500 again.

VON 5 is not too difficult to get some kind of kill bonus in. Also, when the puzzle first came out, I assume people were slower at it, so generating those kills was a necessity, nice a nicety of bonus XP.

Wiz King? C'mon people. That place is an XP Candyland Treasure Trove of Awesome Bacon. I'm not gonna complain that I don't get the extra 10%, or they'll give it to us, then nerf the whole quest's XP by 50% or something.

With a mechanic in the game for an option to obtain bonus XP by spending more time and resources in a quest, continuing to support that mechanic somewhat uniformly makes sense. Whether Wiz King is worth a boatload of XP or not without Conquest is entirely beside the point.

Is it? Or isn't it the center of this matter? You wouldn't care about Wiz King, were it not for the fact that it was a huge chunk of XP, and you'd like to see an extra 25% tacked onto that. People would forget about VON 5, if it wasn't ridiculous XP, and having 1-2 people hang around and kill some WF guys in the puzzle is worth 2-4k XP while everyone else is finishing the rest of the pre-raid.

Actually, they're just the ones that stick out. I get irritated by this in just about any quest where it comes up. Some of the GH side quests have this issue.

Regarding quests in general, I think sometimes the objective (whether traps, doors, etc.) does not garner an XP bonus because it has such a low DC. The Collaborator quest comes to mind - there is exactly 1 hidden door, but a character with negative search can find it, so finding 1/1 hidden doors does not grant an XP bonus. This is speculative and subjective, but I think in addition it is also plausible.

The Bloody Crypt's one where you have to kill respawnin wights in the end room for a bigger bonus.

Also Invaders, but I can't remember if it's just an optional or conquest attached.
