    Default will this AA work?

    I'm on my 2nd life on my ranger, currently trying out a tempest (1st life is a pure elven AA) and was toying around the character planner for next life possibility (probably gona be the final build). The last life will be an AA still, but not sure i want to go back to pure AA again since its kind of a boring build. (fun to play still, just the fact that there is pretty much no variation in how you build an elven pure 20 ranger AA...is kind of boring).

    Anyways, the main disadvantage for this build, as with all AA thats not pure ranger, the lose of capstone. However i added in fighter levels for kensai 1, fighter haste boost, and a couple more feats; while retaining 11 levels of ranger for complete free twf line and a lot of the essential range feats. 1 bard is ofc to qualify for AA without the stupid mental toughness...it also allows for easy UMD (which i missed out on the 1st life), and by putting enough skill point into preform the fascinate that bard get at level 1 can even work into end game content.

    with 2 past life and the extra fighter feats, i can actually add +8-10 damage to range attack (which is the main area that range characters are lacking).

    Briefly calculated the final HP (with +45 gs, +2 con, etc...) to come out around 500 hp without rage.
    At a first glance the saves seems to be only ok... but its defiantly an area i would like to improve on.

    Any comments, criticisms, suggestions are welcome. i'm sure there is probably some major flaw in here that i'm not seeing... but if not, would it be a viable build??

    nice idea

    maybe swap the second toughness for force of personality and get some elf enchantment save enhancements to help with the will save?

    hm yeah. quickdraw and the 2nd toughness are both optional feats. will, even the dragon marks are they just there for free displacement clicky XD so yeah....i can do force of personality.

    nice build. you should have no problem hitting with a 24 dex and having a decent str helps when many shot isn't running and you go melee.

    Why not 13 fighter and 6 ranger (or 12/7 depending on feat - at - level up level split)?

    Kensai II is REAL nice. I'd take that over a favored enemy, take evil outsiders. +6 str for a minute when you activate the PrE ability. You could literally be on that cooldown when manyshot isn't running and really boost your melee damage.

    Edit: Sorry should have mentioned this is final build. First 2 TR's do primary ranger for ranged damage boost PLF.

    well, 13 fighter grant me kensai 2 and powersurrge which is nice when melee...

    however, the immediate costs i'm seeing: more AP (dunno if that will fit with the AA and all that), 2 bonus fighter feat, but lose evasion, precise shot, improve precise shot, gtwf (4 feats have to make up). and lose the ability to cast resist energy 30 (ranger 11).

    might not be such a big deal if range is only the extra added benefit (such as a tempest). but this is an AA build, when not ranging she lose more than half of her damage potential

    at least thats my thought processes anyways ^____^


    *forgot to mention, the capstone speed lose should be make up to a degree with items such as the quiver, blackdragon scale, etc... Not completely made up, but...not total lose either. (theres also fighter haste 2 :P )

    I've not found the loss of the capstone to be a big deal since I got the ToD set.

    Saves*the weakest part of this build...personally feels like it at least.
    Fort: 6 fighter +7 ranger +7 con mod +5 resist +4 GH +2 head =31

    Other
    To-Hit, lose 4 from max dex ranger (assuming 40 end game dex), but gains +2 from feat, +1 enhanc, so only a net -1 lose compare to dex ranger.

    Damage wise, lose 4 from 2 less FE, but gains +2 feat, +2 enhancement, +4 pastlife, +6 confirm crit, and +2 crit damage.

    Speed wise lose the capstone, but gain fighter haste boost 2 to offset it a bit (and it can be use for both melee and range)

    Melee wise, compare to a pure AA, this build sitting at 38 str, full TWF line, fighter haste boost 2, took 2 elf melee damage enhanc.

    UMD allows for self heal, teleport, fire shield, self displacement from dragon marks.

    Compare to a pure ranger, this build also miss out on the ability to cast FOM... but owelz. get the VON fom boots!!
