I'm asking because I am considering reincarnating my fighter as a Pally intimtank and want to know the whole picture.
SO far (lvl 17) I haven't done much raid tanking outside of The Reaver, but in there, and other quests, I've done quite a bit of self-healing while tanking, and I keep up Divine Favor and Zeal almost constantly unless I am purely intimitanking, which I almost never do.

Ferrumrym's current incarnation is designed for self-healing with Maximize, Quicken and a couple ranks in Paladin Devotion. For example, some guildies and I ran an Elite Tor without a healer, and I kept myself up while fighting the dragons (and occasionally tossed out heals to others).

He doesn't have CE yet, mostly because I couldn't imagine supporting both CE and this level of spell usage together. When I start regularly tanking HoX, VoD and ToD, I'll have a babysitter, so that won't be an issue, and these are where CE helps the most, but not the only places. Sins on elite begs for both CE and the self-healing, yet the two are almost mutually exclusive at this point. At around 550 SP, 60-point CSW is manageable, but not for very long even with SP income from Torc and Concordant Opp; 120-point CSW is going to deplete my mana too fast to do anything else.
