Default Half-elf: why no Aerenal / Valenar Melee lines

Why not have at least tier 1 of Aerenal and Valenar Melee Attack / Damage? Just like Human Improved Recovery (on half-elf is max tier II and not III like human). Could be another interesting reason to create an half-elf

Even though half-elves are ostracized, second-class citizens in Valanar and Aerenal.

The nerfing will continue until morale improves!

I agree a +1/+1 option would be very nice. It also makes non-khopesh options more worth considering and gives half-elves a little more of an elven flavor.

I don't have space for Lammania right now, so I'm not sure what enhancements they do have, but the first tier of bow enhancements would be nice to have too.

I too was surprised by this lack of weapon lines.

Somehow, it just doesn't *feel* right. They should have them...

Because half elves are in no way finished. I expect it to be U9 before half elves are finished.

My guess is that this is because Half-Elves are considered their own independent race in eberron, not just random human/elf crossings. They have their own cultures and what not, and since these enhancements are culturally based on different elf cultural groups it kind of makes since that half elves don't get them, since they are part of an entirely different cultural group.

    Great role playing view.
But we are on DDO. Why a min/maxer should choose half-elf and not human? Dilettante? Just take a single level in the class you need. Two set of Intimidate and diplomacy skills? Please, lol. Bonus to longsword, scimitars and falchion could be a reason to choose half-elf instead of human. Otherwise human is still superior.

Taking the single level of another class locks you out of a capstone, and for some classes that's a big deal.

The only Dilettante feat really useful is rogue (1d6 sneak) or fighter (martial weapon prof). So melee advantages. So having +1 or +2 hit/damage on falchion/longsword/scimitar could be a valid reason to choose half-elf. I fear very few will choose half-elf if not given more advantages.

I never said that this justifies half-elf. They probably shouldn't have these enhancements for the reasons I listed, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have some stuff making them worthwhile. And perhaps there's really no big deal here and the dilettante lines that haven't been added yet will be sufficient.

Well as much as people are focused on the end-game that would kind of be a downer for pre-level 10 elves who chose their race specifically for their racial enhancements.

Imho a choice of your personal Halfelf being more on the elven or more on the human side, most probably depending on where he was raised - fluff-wise, should be possible. Choosing one stronger elvish enhancement locks out another stronger human enhancement.

For example either get Healing Amp enhancements from the human side, or get the weapon enhancements from the elven side.

Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

I hope it's true they are unfinished. I'd like to roll one, but as of now, human is still better than half-elf, half-elf has no real bonus over a human

    Half Elf Dilettante is worthless?

How about for a Fighter 20 Intimitank? You're going to have the 13 Charisma, so take the paladin or favored soul dilettante and gain the ability to wand-whip yourself through the low levels.

I'm sure we're going to be seeing a few Intimitank half Elves.

For a Cleric 20, the full Martial weapon proficiencies while keeping capstone?

And then, the devs have already said they'll be adding enhancement lines with the Dilettante feats as prerequisites, to let you further flavor your build with abilities from your dilettante class.

Maybe, just MAYBE, if all you care about is super-optimized pure DPS builds, Half Elves aren't for you. Maybe your time would be better spent whining about the Half Orc attack animations instead.

Pretty useless, yes. Only useful is rogue for 1d6 sneak damage and fighter for martial prof.

Human you can get dragonmark and AP to further raise Intimidate, Dwarf you can get more Armor Mastery.

UMD. And who cares about the low levels?

They can do 2 Intimitade check, but still can't raise Intimidate high as human.

Yes, this is one of the useful cases (rogue and fighter)

We'll see. As of now, there is very few interest in choosing half-elf

Just because I think half-elf should have a boost to choose them, I'm saying I'd like to have lot of half-elves and not only 90% haòf-orc barbarians after update 7

    The Dragonmark of Sentinel gives:

+3 total intimidate for the first tier
    +4 total for the second
    +6 total for the third.

If you've got three feats to spend, Bullheaded, Skill Focus: Intim, and the active Fighter Past Life gives a total of +7 for the same three feats.

It's only if you're willing to blow 5-6 feats on Intimidate skill that humans gain any ground.

I will be playing Half-elves come update 7, because if I wanted to experience action and adventure as a human I would walk out side and punch a random stranger.

Everyone has their reason to play or not play a certain race and guess what there isn't a reason that is more valid then the other.

    U9 Half-Orcs get nerfed/ Half-Elves get buffed
