lol I've had my share of actual lag deaths, opening a door and when I'm able to move again I'm a soulstone, jumping and ending up at the bottom of the pit, dc'ing and falling through a bridge upon relog.....

The one thing that I have never been able to do though is keep swinging while lagging and just not quite being able to drink a pot....or my keyboard lagging so I can't stop running forward
Or like yesterday, I lagged while talking to the dragon so it auto-selected my answers.....

Wizzly been pugging again.. of course, aren't we all? I was in a shroud the other day that had at least 9 different guilds represented...

PS: I'm feeling generous so I'll skip my usual policy of neg repping anyone who complains that they were neg repped.

PPS: On the lag comment above.. I did seriously lag out in the end room of New Invasion (twice - I think my client and that room's traps don't get along) the other day and die, and couldn't resist cussing a bit into the mic. I was immediately sorry, because it's all like, "oh sure, blame the lag."

most times i don't like groups like this but its clearly stated what to expect so i don't join them its more anoying when you join a group like these and they didn't state it .

also when i don't know a quest i don't thouch anything (not even levers at the doors or chest you never know when it will turn in to a big fireball XD )

(and why neg rep the op its a perfectly reasonble request to know how to read lfm)

They can get the completion then release out. (at which point I will likely boot them so they don't cost me XP on the next quest.)

He turned out to be great to run with and he learned a lot with us. I like helping newbies as long as they admit they are new, and are willing to listen/learn.

I agree with most of this but the last point is a slippery slope. I always announce that I'm new to something if I am but sometimes it's nice to actually "play" a quest rather than simply be instructed. If I join a group that says "zerg" or "expert only" or some such then I expect that to an extent and I will ride along and follow instructions but if not it's nice to just enjoy the quest and learn as I go.

So far in my 4 months of play I've not really experienced many quests from a fresh perspective because usually there's someone in there telling everyone where every single trap/chest/passage/thing to do is and it can get a little boring.

I think a lot of vets treat the game like work and get too upset if things don't go perfectly every time. My personal opinion is that if you get upset if a quest fails, or if you lost 10% XP because someone died then you're taking the game a bit too seriously.

Again, I want to qualify that when I join certain groups I expect that and act accordingly but on my most recent toons I've just been running with a single friend and hirelings so I can actually experience the quests first hand instead of just chasing zergers and following instructions.

I'll also add that there's nothing more annoying in the game than elitists. I've joined a couple of LFM's that were up when I didn't know the quest despite them asking for experts (since there was nothing else posted at my level etc) and quickly announced that "hey I don't quite fit the bill for what you're looking for but I'm intelligent and run my toon well" only to have them first berate then kick me from the group. Those folks make a quick trip to my squelch list.

Not really true at all. A lot of Vet's have been through quests hundreds of times, work would be taking new players through it again and again everytime you do it. That leads back to reading the lfm.

You have the right attitude except for one thing, Vet's give a walkthru based on the fact that a lot of new players expect it. If you don't want it, then set up an lfm for new players and no spoilers.

As for getting upset, you either a casual player or haven't spent ages doing the same thing. See it's not anger, it's massive amounts of frustration. A lot of us have RL responsibilities and don't want to sit around waiting for a new player to experience the dungeon. That is why the lfm's state it's a zerg and whatnot. I don't personally scream and shout but I will get annoyed if a player hasn't said they are new and then dies in silly ways or doesn't listen.

It's got nothing to do with taking the game to seriously, it's got to do with wasting our precious time. If I want a challenge I'll go into a quest that is challenging and expect to spend time there. If I'm after speed runs for loot and xp then I will be taking note of players who have not mentioned they are new (nothing wrong with being new) or waste my time.

Your fun right now may be experiencing the game, but understand the other people's fun is TR'ing, looting and zerging....it works both ways
