    Default Its fun to TR!

So I've been running my TR Sylon a lot lately... Not many folks in the guild currently TRing so I've been Pugging a soloing quite a bit.. Its been so much fun Iwanted to share some of my fun!

    ------------

Some Rogue puts up an LFM for BAM Elite.... Cool, need that. He zones in ahead of everyone, only 4 people in the group so far,me, a Cleric, and a melee. we start buffing, might as well start....

Party leader doesnt move the entire quest, no one else was added to the group. WOund up 3 Manning the quest on Elite.... Finished though... Nice.. Made sure to add that guy to my friends list.

    --------

My LFM Is up: Desert Side Quests, Elite. Be Self Sufficient, In Progress.

Ding: XXX has joined the party

    XXX: What House?
me: Um, Desert side quests, as per the LFM Description you just hit.

XXX: Which desert though? THeres more than one ya know!

me: is there? THe only one I know is the Menechtaren, off of Zawabis Refuge.

XXX is silent for a bit

(We finish Purge and are moving on to Maraud the mines)

XXX: so you gonna tell me where it is or not?

DING! XXX Has been dismissed from your party
    me: not
(about 1 minute after he went away, "Someone else" from his guild tried to join the lfm.... decline...

    --------------

another BAM Run. Doing it on hard, solo with anLFM up.

LFM: BAM Hard. Be Self Sufficeint, In Progress

    YYY Joins the group

Proceeds to make his way to the quest, starts to go down one of the passageways Gets one Kill, then Drops dead.

Like the nice guy I am, I grab his stone and bring him back to the shrine.

He proceeds to res and I assume starts healing himself up with one of those eternal wands of cure minor wounds or whatever...

Whatever.. when I finished the quest, he was barely at Half his Hit Points... SO that was nice of him to come in and contribute that -10p

    ------------

Too much fun.. I'm sure I'll have more soon.

    Talking Very nice

Great thread Impaqt; I thought maybe I was the only one that had realized how the playerbase has mutated at the non-endgame spectrum into something that does not know how to read, follow directions, or even find the quest in most circumstances. I have had a few good laughs and will continue to pug even if it costs me neg 10P because some of the /tells you get from these kinds of folks are priceless and it does help break up the monotony of leveling. I might have to copy and paste some future interactions into this thread

What do you mean "non-endgame" spectrum? Just getting to level 20 doesn't prove that people can read or follow directions!

times like these is why I cant stop pugging. It really does a great job of breaking up the monotony of the TR experience.

    ALmost forgot this one....

LFM: Gianthold Side Quests, H/E In Progress.

Ding: ZZZ Has joined your party.
me: Hey, I'm about to start "Cry for help" You know how to get here?

zzz: Oh yeah, I did all the main quests out here, I just need to do the side quests.

me: ok, I'm still at the entrance, I'll wait here for you to get here and take a quick AFK.

I come back to find ZZZ Dead and rezing out.
me: What happened? I cleared everything to the quest...

zzz: Razor Cats got me when I was jumping over the dragon.

me: If you did all the main quests, you can skip the dragon, just take the first teleport option:

    (time passes)

zzz: ****, that must of been my alt, he wont teleport me.

    me: ok, I'm starting

zzz: ok then I guess I'll catch up with ya another time.
    zzz has left your party

I guess you didn't get the memo:

If you TR expect to solo if you don't want to loose 10%.

If you PUG, well... expect to deal with all kind of characters.

I'm going to agree with Impaqt on this. Doing a true pickup group on a true reincarnate can be fun for the sheer amount of things that go wrong or the amount of moments that leave you in a speechless dumbfounded state. It is pretty good stuff for the entertainment value. Among my favorite quest to do in a pickup group for my silent jollies is Invaders, as the meek tend to meet interesting fates inside while also being a free to play quest.

I know hardly anyone on this server so have had no choice but to pug as I hate soloing and hardly have any gear and am not the best player so occasionally die. Although kindly guilded by a friend I have no channel info either.

My experience on Thelanis has been that I have met one of the rudest TRs I have ever met in game (and, other than for a friend vouching for one of his guildies, I will be declining everyone otherwise from his guild - something I have never ever even thought of doing on my main server. My friend laughed when I said this TRs name so I'm guessing they have a reputation here). So in shortmanning with non-TRs I've found some very competant players who are great to party with.

But yeah the usuals too Met someone in the harbour at Thelanis who had problems even with WASD. Wanted to hug them they reminded me so much of me 1 year ago. Gave them plat and pots and stuff.

Although I am not a vet and not the best player I have picked up enough in my year here that I find pugging very entertaining for the same reasons as you Impact Will happily run TS at level for the same awesome crazy cluelessness. Very very funny at times I am hoping that by the time I get to 20 and am raiding that I'll get to know some of the better players so that I can have a break from pugging or soloing.

And yes I can get to all the quests in GH :P

lol. that's because i have like 20 projects going on in my home server! i'll cap her and leave her at 20 to raid. no rush. my problem is the temptation to level that monk that i swore i would leave at 1 (who is now 2)... ... and... and... and ...(here we go! :P )

Dude Invanders! is quite possibly the funnest quest to pug! Unless your the healer, then its a nightmare if you actually try to care. Aparantly a few requirements of running that quest are you must be a headless chicken and not wear any form of deathblock item... because ya know, you'll always have death ward buff up.

    Some beaut's as my cleric:

Them:"Buffz plz, we no move until buff"

    Them:"Healz plz!"
    Me:"Then turn that beholder around!"
    Them:"HEALZ PLZ!" DING!

Them (AFTER EVERY SINGLE BEHOLDER ENCOUNTER):"4+ neg lvl's plz."

I have had the occasional great PUG leveling up again.. but mostly the PUGs have been other TRs, alts of vets, or total dead weight. It's OK. I've tried to stay positive and share what I know.

    My serious advice is this:
    * Yes, TR, and yes, join and start PUGs, but
    * Do the TR together with a friend, and agree to stay at the same level. Two of you can face that nightmare PUG far more happily than one person alone.

Oh I know this, and you know this... but I have had the WORST string of pugs when it comes to Invaders!

Have deathblock? Naw its ok cleric will keep me death warded!

My favorite pug was the one where the barb demanded I rebuff him after every beholder encounter and would not move until he was buffed again. I just left him behind, then realized that sadly he was the only person actually able to kill anything in the dungeon and cut my losses and left.

I remember a LOOOOONG time ago when I ran invaders with you (cowstalker) during an assassin rogue life... and I remember doing everything I could at the time to keep up with your pace.

At least I didn't die... that wouldve been horrible!

    Edit:

    XXX: Shr or else!

Before my recent TR you could count on one hand how many times I booted someone from a group but in the last couple days I have booted alot. Mostly because of situations like the one you posted above.

The funny thing is I have low standards and I dont mind if someone isnt familiar with a quest as long as they are open about it. I rather they state "which house?" or something along those lines.

These folks doing the "shareplz" nonsense are noobs who are trying to act like they know whats up and keeping them in group is a definite way to get neg10% in my experience so far.
