I think it's pretty simple.......read the LFM before you hit it.

I am seeing some of this. Honestly, if you are a half decent player, it ends up being fairly transparent. When it becomes apparent is when you have needed things such as reconstruct in VoD, ect... The other thing that happens is when somebody loots an item that blatantly doesn't help them and has no intent to TR and the group cries foul and the person says, "Oh...I didn't even look at it. Does it bind or something?"
Again, I am not a loot drama person, but the screams of agony from the rest of the party in a raid where everyone should know better only makes it tougher for me to put a raid together next time. The melee guy who wanted Tumbleweed remembers the raid where the sorc took it. He doesn't remember the sorc's name, he only remembers I led it.

“No Battle Plan Survives Contact With the Enemy”
I'm with the OP 110% on this. I don't join groups in which the LFM states something that I have no experience in:
- Not knowing the quest
- Not knowing the leader
- Not wanting to learn the quest
I think it's rude to disrespect the leader's wishes if they want someone that knows the quest, and I in turn, haven't run it before.
Also - if I join a quest for the 1st time, I let the folks know that it's my rookie run. This goes over much, much better than the leader assuming you know what you're doing only to make a grevious mistake.

Whatever. If nothing is going on I start my own group. If I click on a group and don't get a response within 30 seconds I probably don't want to group with them anyway. I always read the LFM, but if someone responds 5 minutes later, I don't know which one they were. That's the point. I have limited time to play. I'm not gonna sit there and wait. If I start a group, I don't make people wait. It's rude to waste people's time. It's a slacker thing to do.
I'm impatient, yes. It's only because I have limited time to play due to having a life outside of DDO. I usually get 2 hours a night. If I'm lucky that's time to get 3 quests in.
Usually with a good group that isn't half asleep, it's 10 seconds or less for a response. In other words, "on point" or "not slacking".
Tic toc... It's cool tho, if you want to take 5 minutes to respond, by all means, take your time. You won't need to deal with me
I respond very quickly when I lead a group. I also change up my LFM to what I need (i.e. Bard, Healer, DPS, ect...)
I actually would prefer someone ask "What are we doing?" and be able to say "VoD. Know it?" than have somebody join, get to the first portal of the sub, die, get rezzed, activate a portal that isn't on the way, cause red alert, die, recall without saying, re-enter, die, ask for help, and then say "I've never been here", ect...
Anybody who knows me knows if you said, "VoD? Yeah, I'm good. Omw" then it's all good. If you said, "What's VoD?" , then I would say "Sorry, quick run...gl!" and politely dismiss you.

I do pretty good with BYOH/Zerg for quests and Self Buff for raids.
I made the mistake of putting "Zerg/There are TRs in Group" on one LFM and ill never do it again. I put it there cuz my friend kills everything in sight and a pug commented that it was boring, so I thought that I would put it there as a disclaimer--oh boy oh boy, the tells I got saying, 'Im very experienced' ' Im not a TR but can I come' yada yada, and the people who joined my Gwylan's stand run. . .Leafy had 120 kills, the rest of the party had more deaths combined than kills combined. Ill be going akc to BYOH/ZERG/FAST In Progress.

Enjoy yourself your time on earth is very short.
All Kyber toons - Xirthax (Paladin) : Xirth (Wizard) : Xirthtrix (Fighter) : Xorthtrox(Monk)
Agreed with that point.
They way I read "know quest" is that it could go either way. A new player looking for a guide or a quick run. I hesitate to join these, not because I am elitist but rather as my time is limited.
In progress tells me they are confident to start without a group and familiar with the objectives. I will quickly join these groups.
Latly I have seen some groups with the in progress tag and then you look at who's in it and they are all sitting in a tavern somewhere waiting for people to join for 15 minutes. Won't join that.
My real forum Join date is July 2007. Maybe one day someone will develop the awsome technology to fix this currently unfixable bug.
Depends on the game you're playing I suppose...
Does it have to be just on Shroud?? When I get home tonight if I see any raids (that I am flagged for of course!) if I see any lfms like this I am auto joining.
Soooooo.... To get back on topic. (sorry OP I didn't mean to cause your thread to go sliding off the rails, but I guess old habits die hard...)
Since I actually know very few quests I never join lfms with "know the quest" in the notes, mostly because those are the people who won't help me in any way, even if I am a quick learner and can follow directions. I imagine they have been burned by enough people who can't that I just leave it and wait or look elsewhere. (Like my friends list <3s to all of you)
If they don't bother to read the LFMs, what makes you think they're gonna read what you just typed in the forums?
In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.

Rarely pug quests honestly, but if i do its, BYOH/IP/ZERG
first shrpls gets booted. If they die on the way, they get booted. If they ask where it is, they get booted, etc. Dont like it dont join.

For the most part I agree, except that group requests can be ridiculously persistent if the leader doesn't actually deny you. A few weeks back I tried to join one of Onceler's ToDs, but he ended up filling the last melee slot before he had a chance to change the classes to caster or something. We exchanged a few tells, I switched chars to do some shopping, and hopped back on Henry maybe 10 minutes later. Before I had even finished logging in, I was hearing party chat...needless to say, I was very confused :P
Two stories from this weekend while running my lowbie bard...
1. WF joins group, asks, "what quest?" Even though it was on the LFM along with 'n/h/e fast for xp'. Said WF shows up at the quest runs by the group, who was waiting for group members to repair and sell after the last mission, he enters the quest on elite and begins. I sent him a tell asking if he was a 'LFM hijacker or what?' Some people have no patience!
2. Guy joins group, again runs by everyone at the start, jumps in and begins mission. I follow him in just for kicks. He takes off running. I give him a few minutes to clear out the oozes (I hate oozes). Then I follow him, dungeon alert goes yellow. By the time I catch up with him, he is surrounded by kobolds and 3 oozes. He runs away from them over to a chest, opens it and dies. Then he leaves the group???????? It was hilarious and really wierd.
There are some seriously strange people playing DDO - kind of reminds me of the real world....
Actually, yes it is.
Why wait around for a slack party leader? I don't have much game time, why waste it because a leader can't pull their finger out and click accept or reject on the screen.
Did you even read the post before quoting it? He said he reads it, remembering it out of several join requests is a different matter.
Click on them as they come in. It's not that hard. For most quests chances are if a leader lacks the confidence to run a quest with the first people that want to join and needs to screen the party i would not want to join their party anyway.
Yeah, clicking LFM's that are already partly filled is slacking. Good call.
A friend will bail you out of jail.
A mate will be sitting in there beside you saying "**** that was awsome!!!"

When I pug I usually avoid any lfm with know the quest or know your role....most of my experience with these have been bad . /shrug
