As a hate tank, you want to be a WF. The immunities helps, the DoD helps more. Also, since you're a WF, you can be healed by arcanes too, and all this while cursed. In the same time, you get more hp from racial toughness.

As a intimi tank... i don't really know. Someone is still using itimi tanks? I *think* WF should come on top anyway, high dr from shield + high dr from DoD makes them nigh-vulnerable. But it's not like i've seen someone use a intimitak in ages.

At least, this is my opinion. Half orcs get +2/4 to hit/damage, which makes them great dps, but they still have lower DR and can be cursed, and have lower HP too.

Well, we'll see how this ends up. Intimitanks need a little love. But the main reason to intimitank is to save on massive doses of mana from a healer. Hate a bit here and there to keep the aggro on you while waiting on the cooldown for intimil...this is a true tank...god I wish they would make more raids that REQUIRED true tanking. As of now, Tanks don't exist in this game, which is kinda wierd because Tanks are right next to healers if not the top in terms of importance in almost every other MMO.

Depends on what you're fighting, I'd suppose. Against giants and spellcasters, dwarves will often pull ahead. Against things with healing curse, warforged. Against most other things, any of the three are on close to even terms.

Ok someone please EXPLAIN to me why healing curses are so gosh darn important for WF?! 1 GUILD POT THAT TAKES 1 SECOND TO DOWN IS THE ONLY THING NEEDED TO REMOVE CURSE.

I dunno, when you're tanking suulu, completely full buff bar, back to a wall, suulu in your face, it can be pretty tough to see when you're cursed. Other races can tank it, but it takes a lot more effort than a warforged does.

You do know that there is a little icon on the top of your screen that appears when cursed. Its the form of a ! mark. Hit F3 or whatever your uncurse pots are and Bham you're done...again it's a silly little convencience thing and doesn't really let WF benefit anything from it.

does it? rofl admittedly I've only tanked him a couple times, and I happened to have other things giving that icon at the time XD (GM ticket updated, khyber market chat gets a lot of flaming spam )

Anywho, it still helps to increase the pool of characters that can heal you, I suppose. With healers friend and a bit of gear the penalty to divine heals disappears well enough

    1) guild pots are relatively new so many people are still thinking about the days when you couldn't drink a curse pot while raging

    2) not all healers are created equal

    3) you don't have to worry about that last second saving heal landing immediately after being cursed

The raid that absolutely requires a stereotypical tank in DDO is one I will refuse to run. I, like many others, find stereotypical tanks very dull to play in DDO (not to mention that a proper tank requires a shedload of gear, whereas a hate tank only needs a decent pool of HP and a DR breaker).

One of the main reasons why I like DDO is because it's so much different from other MMO's.

Problem is the stereotypical tank in DDO IS The DPS hate tanker... It is truly a RARE sight indeed to find a intimi-tank doing his thing. It's SO RARE, that I usually just drop whatever Im doing and gawk at the novelty of all the mobs in a room circling around this one guy.

I have a really good response to this, but my head isn't cooperating. I'll get some sleep, and get back to you.

Why would your back be to a wall unless you're being hit?

A bit more on topic: Let's simplify this down, which is better, WF or Dwarf? The main difference between dwarf and Horc is 40ish hp for a bunch of dps, and it's a comparison everyone should be able to make, since we've all seen WF and dwarven tanks at endgame.

Hence the 'unless you're getting hit' part. Not sure why someone would be tanking sully towards the center of the room in VoD, with everyone else on the wall, which is what was being implied.

You totally missed the argument. noinfo is suggesting playing an AC tank; if Suulo doesn't hit you, he can't curse you. Of course, any AC is still irrelevant 5% of the time, so the "it's awkward to down curse pots" point is not completely moot even in this case.

    Cheers,

The see the half orc being better set as DPS on the backside of bosses. Leave a WF on the front side. For the following reasons
    1) More HP
    2) More DR
    3) Doesn't need decursing
    4) Can be reconstructed

If your half-orc is taking aggro from a good wf tank just look on your bar and turn off the extra aggro generation enhacement all better.
