    Default Archmage SLA cooldowns question

Do they all share a cooldown? If not, Is the inter-SLA cooldown less than than the fire-it-again cooldown for the same SLA?

E.g., say you go nuts on the PrE and have 6 SLAs. Can you fire each one off in quick succession faster than if you just clicked the same one 6 times?

Actual numbers would be greatly appreciated as well as general impressions.

All that I have seen are 6 seconds... there is no other cooldowns except for the global cooldown(every action has this), and the 6 second cool down.

You can spam all SLAs back to back to back if you like. 4 will let you cast with only a very short pause, 5 would prolly be enuf to spam non stop.

The "spam-non-stop" option sounds very appealing. I'm starting to see the benefits of having several offensive SLAs.

They need to remove/lower the cooldown on SLA buff spells. Standing around waiting on 6 second cooldowns to buff the party (or even worse a raid) would be painful. It's bad enough with normal buff spells on a wizard (3 seconds) compared to a sorc (1.5s) trying to buff a raid.

Consider an Adjuration spec AM who took Resist Energy as a SLA so they can cheaply buff a raid.
12 people x 3 resists x 6 seconds = 216 seconds, just over 3.5 minutes. You'd probably end up getting told not to buff because it's too slow.

There is no real balance issue, just an annoyance factor.

Wait. You actually buff the entire party? I used to spend half my SP buffing up the party. These days I give buffs sparingly. If a player wants a specific buff, or an Axer package, they can ask. Otherwise chances are they'll just get a Greater Heroism and a Blur. Depending on the quest I might hand out a resist or two, but that's a tad rare and I just hand them out when we get to the spot requiring them.

The abjuration line is useless regardless (except for Abj V, dismissal). Even if you totally removed the cooldown, it's not worth it, because they're all long duration spells that you cast at most once per rest.

The point I was making is that SLA buffs on long cooldowns (6 seconds) is bad. It makes the less useful buff SLA's even worse than they already are. A shorter cooldown would make them slightly more useful without any unbalancing.

Whether the Abjuration line (which I used just to provide a timed example) is worth it is a completely different discussion.

In fact all the normal buff spells could do with a cooldown overhaul as well. Do we really need to wait so long between casting greater hero? Is there any in game benefit to making party buffing slow and tedious?
