Default Half Orc Monks TWF or THF?

So what does everyone think about Half Orc Monks TWF with Handwraps or THF with Quarterstaffs?

I would like to play Half Orc THF with Quarterstaffs but unfortantely no PRE really supports THF. Also TR adds to unarmed damage only!

So far PRE's are all about TWF with either Shortswords or Handwraps.

I figure if your going to play a Half Orc Monk, might as well go with their strength
    of THF enhancement lines...

But that pretty much rules out Shintao Monk!

It's going to take a lot more than +4 damage from an enhancement to justify using a Quarterstaff over handwraps. Also, the +4 STR Half-orcs get actually benefits unarmed combat more than THF, since off-hand unarmed gets full STR mod.

If you're going 20 Monk you'd have to be insa...have a unique perspective to not go TWF for handwraps. OTOH you might be the only monk on a server to do it so..

OTOH, a HO monk 7 / rogue 13 build using staves might be cool, especially since Ninja Spy I / Acrobat II should now be possible.

Cool? I guess. More DPS than the same build, but with handwraps? I doubt it.

this! the problem is, so long as you have at least 1 level of monk, you will do more dps with handwraps than the exact same character with a quarterstaff since even at lvl 1 the handwraps do more dmg than qstaff and the str bonus to handwraps outweigh any speed bonus an acrobat may get with a staff, and pure monks will never do more dmg with anything but their fists in this game (which imo is lame, as a grandmaster monk should have a epic monk only staff that blows away his fists).

A quarterstaff being a two handed weapon, you get a boost from two handed enhancements, and +10 damage from Power Attack.

Benefits for Handwraps from Half-orc enhancements
-Half-Orc Fury(50% from less than half health and stuff)
    -Orcish Strength
    -Orcish Power attack

Benefits for Qstaffs from Half-orc enhancements
-Benefits for Handwraps except: Orcish Power Attack counts double.
    -Orcish Melee Damage +4 damage
    -Orcish Great Weapon Magnitude

    It'd be really close. I don't know =3...

I don't have the math for this but I'd have to think with all the enhancements to THF, with doublestrike becoming more common, and with double-damage from strength qstaves would be very close if not better on the 13/7 builds. For the pure builds though it's hard to compete with 2d10+ in damage.
