    Default Males playing female Toons?

Really beating a dead horse here but either I seem to be noticing it more now or there is a influx of it then used to be but does anyone notice all the males playing female characters? Though yes I have seen it alot over the passed 15 years or so of my MMO gamin life. Sure I know the normal saying when asked why...if you are going to sit at a computer for 8 hours you would rather look at a female behind.

Or maybe I just put to much thought behind a character as imo its a digital imprint of yourself in a way, since you can tell alot about a person due to his playstyle and what kind of character they play.

So you guys playing females can you give me good reasons of why you play a female toon?

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

You post anything on the internet pointing as to how people do things and don't think it'll get turned back at you? LOL

He had a good question and didn't call you "gay" although you do sound a bit deffensive about it. If he didn't have the second post in the thread asking why you enjoy looking at animate male's backsides I'm sure someone else would have asked.

From your initial post it sounds like you think all males should be looking at other males on their screen. Too each his own, but I find that kind of wierd.

I mainly play two characters, one's a female and the other is a male. When I refer to them I say "it", not "he" or "she".

My first and still favorite toon - Heidiann (female) was actually based on my then current girlfriend (Heidi Ann). She looks a lot like her (-minus the armor but with the swords), and her playstyle is how Heidi would play.. The intent was to get her (the real Slim Heidi) to quit stinkin Runescape ~ where here and I played together for like 4 years ~ and come to a better game... Attempt failed ~ she and I are now "just friends" and she's still playing and I believe passed my total lvl GRR.

Second Toon - Shamurai (male) ~ Was intended to be me (its my Real Nickname for like 22 years) - A gimped 28pt lvl 20 Sorc... pretty much only does Shroud to get stuff for everyone else... I really should TR hiim into something...

Next 2 toons - Faithrune (female healbot), and Samuiree (female butt whupper) - the maternal caregiver and the fiesty spunky brat with crazy hair...

Other toons... hmm female WF (that was accidental), female FvS - Faithy's seminary roomate... but hey!! both my mules are male!!! and my future Half Orc Barb will be all male baby!

I wish this game had sweet skimpy outfits and bunny ears like i have for my fem toon back when i used to play WoW.

Id love to run around town wearing basically Frilly underwear with bunny ears and /kiss anyone that walked by.

    why?

it amused me. isnt that what the game is all about? MY amusment? its what i thought i paid for....

(Edit: My amusment within the games set rules and policies)

I don't claim to know the exact statistics , but my guess is that at least 80% of the people playing this game are male . The characters I see seem to be about 50/50 between male and female . That tells me that there are a lot of guys playing female characters . There are probably overweight people playing skinny characters . There are probably short people playing big hulking brutes . There are probably dark skinned people playing light skinned characters and vice versa . Some people like to create a character that looks and acts and interacts with others as close to they are in real life . Some people like to do the opposite . Remember what RPG means . It's a ROLE playing game . I've played the pen and paper version of this game (loooong ago) and played some characters like me and some totally different . Right now I'm playing a male elf ranger , which from the previous posts is the worst choice ever . So i'll likely play a female half-orc or dwarf when I can , just to be different . My character isn't me . If you assume that anyone you interact with here looks or acts anything like they do in real life then you're in the wrong place .

We should post this as a banner in the forums so no one will keep asking this question.

I have met a few female gamers who play male characters for different reasons in different MMO's. I always thought it was funny nobody complains about that (or even notices it half the time).
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

As a female who plays mostly female characters (I recently made a half-orc barb), I can tell you that no one complains about my gender preference on toons (or, at least, they don't complain to me). They've been surprised when it turns out that I AM a female playing female toons. Even though it's been explained that males would rather look at the back of a female...it still makes no sense to me. It's a toon........and if that does something for you, you should probably be investing more time socializing WITH women than staring at a toon's digital behind. O.o (Just saying)

i don't even read what you said but it's about inferiority complex.

i'm a guy, so i should play male characters! harharhar! i'm so alpha male. i'm even nazi...

    ......................................

as a guy, i like females. so it's only natural if i want to "play with" female characters.

    .....

that being said, i play dwarves and their females sucks.

    ......

    remember neeshka from nwn?

you didn't like playing with her?

those critical sneak attacks with super animations?

    i loved that.

Not a control issue or anything like that for me. (Although I'll admit that there's a little of the "I'd rather stare at a female for hours" logic to it. ) It's mostly that I'm big on the aesthetics of a game and tend to gravitate towards elves in alot of games that I've played. In DDO I'm just not that big of a fan of the male elven models so my elven characters tend to be female. Outside of elves, my characters are predominantly male.

As long as the character is aesthecally pleasing to me the gender doesn't matter that much. There's been many a character that has been rerolled within an hour of creation because I didn't care for the color of the wf plating, or how the hair style looked from the back or I had second thoughts about the name. I'm the one who is going to be sitting behind the character and look at the appearance I created so first and foremost I make a character that is interesting to me. Not much more to it than that.
