    Default Jewel of Fortune question

OK, when I first started playing, I was told that if someone with a Jewel of Fortune opened the chest, everyone in the party would benefit from the effects.

Then I hear that is an urban legend, and that the jewel only affects the user regardless of whether he/she opens the chest.

Tonight, I hear someone again say that the jewel will benefit everyone as long as the person with the jewel opens the chest.

So, which is it? Is there a definitive answer by a DEV somewhere that I can link to if the issue arises again?

I'd appreciate any legitimate information on the matter. Thanks.
Too many toons to list, but the mains are Achewon, Westudi, and Shonufff.

It's for the person only, other players cannot affect your loot drop via their Jewel of Fortune.

It does not matter if you are the first or last person to use the chest.

Every time you get an influx of new players you revive some of the DDO Urban Legends. Next they'll be saying if you use diplomacy on the chest you'll get better loot. (Seriously, people used to get ****ed if you opened a chest before they diplo'd it. )

Thanks to all of the quick replies.

Yeah, the diplomacy thing was irritating too.
