Live event in Delera's Graveyard this Thursday

Thursday evening (Sept 30th) at 7:30 EST we are planning to temporarily enable a new live event on the Lamannia server for testing purposes.

This event is unlike anything we have done before in DDO and would love to get your participation.

The event takes place in Deleras Graveyard public area (which is free to all players) and has a halloween theme. It is designed for all levels and is a two-phase event.

The first phase is in the public area, is fairly casual and serves to unlock the second phase, which involves a unique boss and instanced gameplay (where players are segregated according to level).

The event also previews a new 'barter' system that we hope to make more use of in the future.

Besides looking for obvious bugs and performance issues, we'd love to get feedback on enjoyment factor, play balance, etc.

DISCLAIMER: This is a complex event and a work in progress. Things may not go as planned (we could encounter a serious bug that makes this event a no-go). If you prefer to experience a fully working event, you should probably wait until it goes live. :-)

If you are interested in participating, please check this thread again tomorrow afternoon/early evening to find out if the event is still a 'GO'. If it is, all you need to do is make your way into Deleras after 7:30PM EST. Devs (unknown who or how many at this time) will also be participating and the duration will be a couple hours (hard to say exactly).

Thursday ~2:30am? Fairly bad timing for european players... Fairly nasty to try and stay up till that event and ~2h for clearing it means it would end around the time I would normally wake up for the work >.<

And I'm working on some neat prize ideas for those attending. More details on that in the coming days.

Uhm... I suppose you'll gain same prizes while it's on live server (w/ event timed, so european people can actually do it while it's evening instead of past midnight), or give european players chance to gain it while doing it around ~4:30pm GMT...

Just a quick note to add that the event will be available (both parts of it) to characters of all levels. We always love to get feedback from all levels. Depending on how well things go we'd love to see folks run it at both low levels and high.

count me in. i hope that everyone has an equal chance of pulling gear or whatever it is. it would really suck everyone who went to join killed it and only one or a few got the item. it would be unfair to the other who tried since this is going to be a rare thing

I hung out in Delera's for 15 minutes last Thursday night, waiting in vain for the sky to change. I did notice the door (CR24, iirc) at the back of the graveyard, and explored the new trails.

Is it possible to step in to the event at any time? Living on the west coast, I might be home by 9:30 pm eastern, and would like to join towards the end if possible.

Also, will the event be looping or repeating itself over the time period so that latecomers can experience it all, or will people have to commit themselves to spending a few hours continuously in there to get the full experience?

More information on the rewards would be good - it would be nice if they were independent of character level.

Im still confused about the timezones, and am/pm.
so probably when i figure out at what time it is here in the Netherlands the event will be over
