    Default lawful outsider

Any ideas about specifics on what count as tainted creatures?

'tainted' creatures (aberrations, extraplanar creatures that are not classified as 'Lawful Outsiders', and undead)

The undead bit is fairly straight forward.

Will this work on orthons and bearded devils, I know from my ranger that they are concidered to be evil outsiders but do they also count as lawfull so wont be effected? Is there a list somewhere of what creatures are concidered lawfull outsiders?

What about melfits, elementals and the demon queen type mob (can't remember the name for it atm lol)

Pretty much all the devils are lawful evil outsiders. That means Harry. And those ghostlike cats, Bezikira(sp?).

Yes, but Jade Strikes and all monk tainted abilities will still work against them.

It only doesnt work against "Neutral Outsiders", those that have "Lawful" as their main trait. Devils dont qualify, they have "Evil" as their main trait, and it overrides "lawful".

Therefore, monks abilities works on everything on Shavarath or FROM shavarath. Also mephits, elementals, beholders, flesh renders, ice renders, tharaak rounds, Mindflayers and so forth.

Other than the demon queen type (marilith - extraplanar chaotic evil outsider), the rest can vary depending on their actual names. For instance, most mephits are extraplanar true neutral outsiders, but fire mephits are actually lawful neutral outsiders, and thus 'shouldn't' be tainted. Its going to be trial and error, especially since we don't know how this stuff is being tagged by the developers. Is someone having to go through a monster database and marking each monster individually under the tainted column? Is it a subroutine + lookup table, where it looks for all the traits that would fit the criteria, and it finds them its considered tainted? The former will reflect entry and interpretation errors, the latter would depend on a probably (based on what I've seen so far) lackadaisical tagging in the past for something that probably wasn't terribly critical at the time, thus not getting that much scrutiny for 'correctness'.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that with broad strokes, you can assume that MOST elementals and mephits, aberrations and other extraplanars will be tainted, but you'll always be running across exceptions. You can take comfort that there are very few lawful neutral outsiders (except for 20th level monks, of course) running around out there.

    From the Shintao thread:

However, it was also stated somewhere that a lot of creatures are not correctly flagged as extraplanar, so I wouldn't count on it working against everything it is supposed to.
