Default Rogue help =) feedback wanted!

Alright check it out. I wanna play a human rogue, and im hearing a dex based rogue is not that great, also heard str based is the way to go. Im on 28 point build still though im ViP, dont quite have that much money in game to buy tomes and point wise i have 500 a month to work with. What i want is a rogue build thats not too tome dependant for a 28pnt human rogue who wants to be an assasin rogue BUT be decent with traps. Any help is appreciated.

p.s. before anyone says go halfling or go drow i choose human because i like the race, so please dont suggest it. And please try not to turn this post into a religious debate about dex based or str based being better i know they both have there plus and minuses but i choose str because its human and its more damage which i like. thanks!

    first:
you say you want help for an assassin build that does traps. Then you say has to be human, has to be strength based and you want help. If you want help it best to see why people ask for the other builds. NOt saying you won't be able to do a str based rogue as a human. However, with 28pt build it is harder to make a str based rogue that can make the "to-hit" numbers. The reason why people warn against this build is that at higher levels you will have a problem hitting things. It is a viable build later when you have 32pt and can be doen with tomes but you will still struggle hitting things.

The links you have seen are good just remember that it is a difficult build to make work.

First, even the str based one you see there is a 32 pt build on one and the other ends with a 18 str. Which is far from high enough with gear (even great gear) to hit everything in the game. The link even talks about a halfling build. If you want a great one here is one i put together fast for you (it has tomes but as a rogue you will be able to buy +1 and +2 tomes and you can get a +3 tome at level 20 with some work (the idea of using the halfling is that compared to the str build that had an 18 str say it had 20 with a +2 tome. That means it is 10 points lower then the dex one (so -5 to hit). It will miss thinks for an extra +3 damage (14 versus 20) which if the dex one adds power attack his to hit will be the smae for +2 more damage:
I added a +3 dex at 20 and the cheat death would be deadly shadows but the planner does not have it.

Actually, step#2 could be replaced by "earn 400 favor". Step#3 works on the fly.

The toon who unlocked drow aside, my drow rogue was always the character with the highest level. Of course, it is no optimal build, but I'm planning on TRing her anyway. After she collected enough raidloot and unlocked 1750 favor (which is not that easy without all low-level p2p content).
Toons on Orien: Meinir // Flodur // Twiddler // Thorkar // Impetor // Juliacantor // Minor all Soko Irrlicht

    How about this?

    Start with:
    STR 16
    DEX 15
    CON 14
    INT 10
    WIS 10
    CHA 8

All levelups into STR. Final would be:

    End with:
    STR 21
DEX 17 (need +2 tome before level 9!!)
    CON 14
    INT 10
    WIS 10
    CHA 8

You can easily reach 28 STR with a simple +6 STR item and no tomes. That's not bad for a 28pt build.

    Feats:
    1: Toughness, TWF
    3: PA
    6: Toughness
(Make sure that during this time you buy a +2 DEX tome, should be affordable in the AH, and is absolutely necessary. Hold back the leveling to 9 if needed!)
    9: ITWF
    10: Crippling strike
    12: GTWF
    13: Improved Evasion
    15: Improved Critical
16: Slippery mind (it's not so bad if you have 18 will save - possible with some items)
18: Toughness (this will make you less squishy)
    19: Skill mastery

Slippery mind or skill mastery can be replaced with Opportunist and the Toughness at level 18 with Precision, even though precision isn't really required and is probably a waste of a feat if you are a STR rogue.

Skills (you can maximize 9 skills) by priority:
    Use Magic Device
    Disable Device
    Search
    Open Lock
    Move Silently
    Hide
    Spot
    Balance
    8 so far.

You can split the remaining skill points in the next ones, or even on just 1. I guess it's personal preference. If you can take a +2 INT tome halfway through the levelup you will have 1 extra skill point for the remaining levels.
    Jump
    Tumble
    Listen (this isn't really needed)

    Enhancements:
Here you basically go for assassin. For being human you can take Human Adaptability and Greater Human Adaptability to get STR and CON to an even number, if needed. In any case you should have more than enough enhancement points since you will probably not spend any points in the Rogue Dexterity enhancements, except as dump points.

It's just a sketch anyway. Hope i didn't miss anything!

Like was said before, you may have some trouble hitting things sometimes so you will have to try and boost your attack roll as much as you can. There are some items that can help you with that though.
