    - Improved Trip;

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

Toughness: Yes, please. Take one. Most builds should have one of these.

Dodge: Depends entirely on build. Are you going Tempest? If so, yes. Will you have uber AC? If so, probably. If your AC doesn't break at least 60 by late levels, don't bother. In fact, I personally wouldn't bother with it if I couldn't get to 80 or so.

Luck of heroes: I think shintao can use this as a prereq, but otherwise I wouldn't take it personally.

Die hard: No. It's marginally more useful than Skill Focus (listen), but that's about it.

Besides these 4 four feats mentioned above, looking for additional valuable defensive Feats. Any suggestion? Ty.

I will pick Diehard anticipating the inclusion of an effect or a spell like the attack Touch of Death made by Orcus the PnP 4th Demon creature, this effect drops your HP to 0 in a successful melee attack. Also good when soloing.

Why would you ever take diehard instead of toughness?

I pick the initial five feats in the order they appear. First take toughness, then if I have availability I shall pick the next one.

Combat Expertise and Improved Trip is a very strong and classic defensive maneuver.

Sap is good for solo play or if you wanna sap the caster to prevent them from casting, there is NO SAVE for sap, so have fun with that.

Forget Die Hard, you'll have a better chance surviving with an EXTRA toughness feat, since you can take it more than once.

    toughness: yes. take it. period.

dodge: this would be good if you were a fighter focused on AC. otherwise no.

Luck of Heroes: not worth it

Combat Expertise: if you are an ac build then this a must have, otherwise its worthless.

    Diehard: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

There's nothing that drops you to 0. Don't base any assumptions of this game off anything in 4e.

There are plenty of things that can drop you well below 0, though . And a number of spells that can drop you straight to -10 (dead).
The odds of landing in the small window that Diehard offers you are miniscule beyond low/mid levels, and if there's anyone with even the tiniest bit of healing around they can get you back on your feet.

Still, it's always better to take toughness instead of diehard.

If you get hit and end up at -9, with diehard you autostablilize, but if you have had another toughness you wouldn't have gone below 0 HP in the first place.

    Thus diehard is completely useless.
