Default Favored enemies for epics (desert mainly)?

I have a multiclass ranger (exploiter) I am about to LR to a mix with only 12 ranger (12 levels ranger, 7 rogue, 1 monk). I am also going to start the epic grind and I think I am going to focus first on desert stuff (will run other epics for fun, but the stuff I really need is epic spectral gloves and bloodstone, perhaps some red fens for the bracers/gloves of the claw also). May also still run some Von (since I am giving up the FoM spell I now need the boots) the boots), and may do some abbott also for litany or quiver, but the focus will be the desert.

I only get 3 favored enemies. One will stay as evil outsiders because I will keep running shroud and I love running amrath quests, Tod, vod, hox - and will keep doing so to grind tomes.

For the current epic content, with a focus on desert stuff, what do youfolks recommend the other two favored enemies should be?

Chains of Flame: Gnolls, Gnolls, more Gnolls. I don't believe Mephits fall under any bane/favored enemy category. This is also a hateful, evil quest on Epic which due to only having 2 shrines just...SUCKS.
WizKing: Undead, undead, and some Gnolls. Not worth taking Gnolls for this, it's just a dozen enemies right at the beginning, the rest is all undead with a sprinkle of golems.
    OOB: Elves, Vermin, Aberrations.
DQ1: ...**** near everything. Evil outsiders, aberrations, vermin, reptiles, mephits, gnolls, monstrous humanoids,
    DQ2: Evil outsiders

IMO you should set up your FEs for the hardest foes in the quests you run.

That's Evil Outsiders (Lailat in DQ1 and DQ2, has the side effect of being the best overall FE choice), whatever Scorrow are for OOB, Gnolls for Chains of Flame, and Undead for Wiz-King.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

    Thanks.

The scorrow / drow scorpions are aberrations (per the ddo wiki)

I agree that's what I need to do - go for the toughest for the content I will be playing. So my question then is:

how would you prioritize those 4.. if I LR to the 12 ranger / 7 rogue / 1 monk, I only get 3 FEs...

    Thanks!

I am close to doing this LR to I crease my rogue levels.

What do you guys think will be more frequent / tougher on the epic desert: gnolls or the scorrow? Reason I ask is that when I LR I will only have 3 FE's. One will be Evil Outsiders, I think 1 needs to be undead given they aren't sneak attackable, that leaves 1 more.

I am also considering not doing the LR if keeping 4 is that important, but I lose out on some nice situational dps that will come in handy on epic (sneak attack dps I gain is more than the fe dps I lose, and it's nice extra damage when I run epics which don't have FEs). I guess the other option is to not run one of the major epic quests (example: not pick undead and avoid the undead area), but I don't fell too good about that.

    Thanks much!

Evil Outsiders, Undead, and Abberations (Mind Flayers and Scorrow) are my vote

It really depends on how "easy" it is for you to swtich feats back when you're "done" running desert epics. If your RL financial situation allows you easy respecs rock with it. From my own observations though, it's not needed.

Trash is trash regardless of them being "epic" or not. I've picked my FEs to be EO, Undead, Giant, Dragon. It covers every "boss" in the game where DPS counts the most.

    YMMV.

I have no issue respeccing (ie - I have no problem spending real money on TPs).

I understand (as bosses that count) FE and undead. But Giant (? Drawing a blank here), and Even though I am fully aware that Velah is a dragon, and I yet have had to do that epic raid, I remember someone mentioning she's not that tough from a dps needed standpoint?

I've also wondered if perhaps keeping elementals as the third may make sense, since they are immune to sneak attack, but not sure how many elementals I'll face at end game/epic.

Grodon, I am either drawing a total blank or it's a quest/raid I am currently not running and thus don't 'see it' - what boss are you covering with 'Giant' as a FE?

The only monster who qualifies as a boss in epics and is a giant would be the fire giant in VoN2. There are also ogres and trolls here and there.

Maybe he's planning ahead for when Gianthold gets converted to epic?

The only other boss type who is a "giant" would be in Stealer of Souls, and he's a lich, not a giant.

Depends which ones you run sigh. Elves for OOB, Undead for wiz king, and Gnolls for chains, and evil outsider for dq1 and dq2. Pick which quests you are going to run and take the FE for that if you had one more FE you could cover all your bases.
