And since we're talking TRs, add paladin past life feat to that fighter (who can easily fit it). poor, poor barbs

This build is already gimped from having a starting DEX of 8.

Anyone who has played Mod 10+ knows that Will-based attacks have greatly reduced durations and diminishing returns, meaning WIS can be dumped as low as 8 without paying too much for it. Reflex-based attacks, however, are responsible for 50% of the damage you will be taking, and with a low DEX score you will constantly be knocked down and failing your reflex saves.

Lower starting CON to 16 and raise DEX to 14. Barbarians already get more than enough hit points that a -20 won't matter much at the end of the game.

    PS.

This build is also invalid. I'm pretty sure from the Lamannia test server that Orcish Power Rage II requires Orcish Fury III or an equivalent enhancement line in order to take.

Darn, you beat me to it!

    Orcish Power Rage II

    * Prerequisites: Lvl 15 Half-Orc, Lvl 6 Barbarian, Orcish Power Rage I, and any of: Orcish Fury III, Orcish Brute Fighting III, or Orcish Extra Action Boost III.

Official release notes. You have none of the prereqs for it, so your quite a bit of AP short. You do, however, have the requirements for Orcish Power Rage I still

I'd like to see how a THF pure barb, THF 18 barb / 2 fighter, and THF pure fighter stack up. I'd suspect that the order would be fighter > 18/2 > barb.

Just looking at the 18/2 versus the pure barb, the pure barb's increased glancing blow damage probably just means around 3% more DPS compared to without the capstone, whereas the 15% haste boost from the fighter splash would probably mean around 5-6% more DPS until haste boosts run out (so it depends on how long you can keep it up). The +4 str from barb level 20 rage + capstone is probably cancelled out more or less by the extra feat that the fighter splash can take (for example, paladin past life). And THF fighters were hurt very little by Update 5, because the change to doublestrike instead of 10% alacrity actually increased their DPS.

The build also doesn't take into account the following problems (some also mentioned above):
    * Use of con Yugo pot means -5% attack speed means less DPS. Can people who like to post max DPS builds stop assuming con Yugo pots to try to buff up their HP into an acceptable range? (Similarly, I always find it humorous when people's DPS comes from sneak attack which generally assumes not aggro, then assume double madstone which assumes aggro. I know there's radiance and stuff but these assumptions usually show the builds are just looking to pump up the "theoretical" max numbers rather than have numbers that are grounded in reality.) That, or maybe the DPS calc should take into account...this build's creator says he's using the con Yugo pot so...-5% alacrity for his DPS.
    * Lack of proper prereqs for Orc power rage. If you want the orc power rage, you'll have to come up with some extra AP to cover the prereq. I suggest getting rid of the great weapon aptitude line (unless it's needed by something else), and maybe putting in, dunno brute fighting or something. Getting 6% more magical procs on glancing blows doesn't mean much, maybe like 0.2-0.25% more DPS or something. And of course virtually nothing if you're using the ESoS.
    * As another side point...why trying to make a name? Unlike other more classic named builds like the Monster or Tasmanian Devil or Exploiter or whatnot, there's nothing particularly new or innovative about this build (other than race, but race is a more minor factor than the class choices in a build, and it's certainly not innovative to combine half-orc with barbarian). Even when Shade made his max DPS build, he didn't try to come up with a name for it. There's little point trying to distinguish it from a regular capped barbarian when the choices made would largely be the same.

Generally in looking over the builds that people have been posting lately, it's more and more difficult to find builds that are actually moving in new directions, with most just being a rehash of already-known builds. In which case, I would expect it to be framed as more of a modification of a known build rather than trying to put it as its own build.

Using superlatives like that your build is the "king of THF DPS", and then posting this indicating that you haven't done the calculations to back it up or are expecting someone else to, is not particularly good form, nor does it inspire a sense of confidence.

Methinks it's easier to claim "first!" on the official forums and worry about Lamannia consequences later.

    Post Mistake

    Hey there,

Do you mind explaining to me how you got that orcish power rage II??? When i try to get it (al lvl 19) it says that it need:

    Orcish Power Rage I
    Have minimum 54 points spend
    Be minimum lvl 15

    and one of those 3:

    Orcish Fury III
    Orcish Brute Fighting III
    Orcish Extra Action Boost III

So it seems i got all accept for the lower 3, and they are not in your list as well... That still was not an issue if i have enough points, but that ain't so as well...

    Half-Orc Damage Enhancements (28):
    Orcish Strength II (6)
    Orcish Melee Damage II (6)
    Orcish Power Attack III (6)
    Orcish Power Rage II (3)
Orcish Greater Weapon Aptitude III (6)
    Orcish Fury I (1)

    Thanks.
