    Post Halfling Cleric Build

Hey guys . I just wanted your opinion on my up and coming cleric. My cleric is a halfling (chose because they get the mark of healing), and has empower spell activated. She is lvl 4 and does +30 heals with her light heals. Is this a good number to have at lvl 4 with light heals? Also i chose the font of healing path and wanted to know if i should have customized a cleric? I want to know early because i get an auto lvl 4 and so i won't have a pathetic healer later. Also is halfling a good healing class or does the dragonmark of healing have nothing to do with the fact that their made to be healers? Just wanted to know if my cleric is going to be the best of the best or the worst of the worst or just the average. Thnx for your time

PS: Looking for the best build of a cleric out their or the class that's made to be a cleric at least.

Hey FlamingPoet, I have a few suggestions on the points you mentioned:

    Halfling, for Dragonmarks:
Halfling Dragonmarks aren't as useful to a Cleric as they are to a build that has less healing available. They benefit most from having metamagics like Maximise, Empower Healing and Empower activated, however by leaving these Meta's on you can easily drain yourself of spellpoints too quickly. You would benefit much more by spending your (limited) feats on something else.

Level 4 Cleric with 30hp Cure Light wounds:
Given the limited SP available at your level, I'd suggest boosting your healing via items instead of using metamagic feats to do so. Those feats become more useful when you have mass cure spells available.

Stop by the spell enhancement potion vendors in House Jorasco or House Phiarlan and pick up some Superior Ardor I potions - try using one of these instead of Empower on your Cure Lights. If your character has a little capital, stock up on some Superior Ardor II potions instead - if limited on funds use them when you know a tough fight's up ahead. When you see how much benefit these provide you might see why I recommend these over Devotion items. But any boost that doesn't dig into your SP is nice.

You can also check the brokers or auction house for Devotion or Ardor items (though you should have a good chance of finding them at your level).

    Font of Healing path
Unfortunately, the paths offered in the character creation screen are to be avoided at all costs. Customise your character.

Healing tends to be easier when your character can do more than just heal. In other words, by being able to cast offensive spells or provide useful melee you reduce the need to heal in the first place.

Halflings are not a class :P
However they have advantages in builds that focus on Armor Class, Sneak Attacks, Stealth, Saves, and Self Healing.

I would suggest DDO Wiki, The Cleric Build Catalogue , and The Path to Enlightenment

Halflings make great Clerics in my opinion, but not because of the Dragonmarks. There is positively no room for Dragonmarks on an already feat starved class. Consider- Clerics only get 7 feats. The first question you have to ask is whether you are interested in healing at the higher levels or are just trying out the class. If you are healing at higher levels, I recommend: Empower Healing, Maximize, Toughness, Quicken- these are essential, IMO. Extend is wonderful for short term buffs, but not a build-breaker. Empower will add to both your Cure spells and your damage spells. That's 6 out of 7 feats.

Ask yourself- if you could get all these other feats that will improve your healing (and damage!), why take even one feat that won't even come close to healing as much? Feats do affect Dragonmarks, but if you eat up all your feat slots with D-Marks, you won't have room for the feats that make them stronger.

I would also be blunt and say that any popular build you can find here on the forums is ten times better than the pre-set paths.

To answer your question about if your Cleric will be best of the best, average or sub-par- IMO, it will be average if you took the Turbine pathing and swapped out the D-marks. It will not be raid healing worthy if you follow a path and take more than one D-mark.

My main is a Halfling Cleric and I adore her... Halflings have some unique options that other classes don't. If you wish to custom build, shoot me a PM and I would be happy to give some input.

    Good Luck!
