    Default Make Quest repetitions decay.

I know that repeating a quest has to have a penalty, otherwise people would farm maybe 8 different quests in order to get to level 20. However I think its a little ridiculous that TRs have to preplan out their leveling strategy and make sure they maximize n/n/n/h/e combos.

What would be the harm in having repetitions decay, like 2 or so per week? You still will never get the first time bonus back. I think this would be beneficial to level 17-19 TRs who can then casually get XP doing raids and relevant content if they want to slow it down a bit.

Maybe its a small issue but it would be a welcome change in my book. I think it would be relieve a little stress about making sure you leave enough of the finite xp in later levels.

Plus it sort of gives a little buff to the casual player who isn't trying to get 10 TRs done in 20 weeks.

I'd rather they add more quests to the levels where running the same quest on n/n/n/n/n/h/e is necessary to gain the XP needed to level.

The harm in adding a repettion penalty decay is that would become one more excuse for the fanbois to wave like a flag anytime someone criticizes Turbine for ignoring the high-level content.

More quests are needed at the weak-points in the quest list. This suggestion would only mask the issue at hand.

I just ran my Monk from 5 to 8 a week ago, and only did maybe a third of the content in that level range. Only Delera's Tomb and Tangleroot were repeated; Tangleroot once for the +3 STR item as well as the +3 CON belt. Delera's because DDO only drops end rewards that you cannot use on your current character (no matter the setting), and I couldn't get the handwraps after grabbing the VotM.

    I think it's a good idea. +rep

It lets casual gamers raid their way to cap, instead of PUGing quests where their only benefit is XP. Especially casual gamers who got suckered into TRing multiple toons at once. It wouldn't really affect "extreme" gamers, since they will likely would have leveled up and the quests they were farming for XP will no longer be relevant for that toon.

    Examples:
-Powergamer A hits Shadow Crypt at level 10, and runs it 14 times (10 elite, 1 hard, 1 norm, 1 casual). At high levels, they run each raid once per 3 days, and quickly accrue repetition penalties. After a week, one repetition goes away, but this is unlikely to actually impact his/her gameplay because (1) they are probably level 12 a week after they do this, and (2) 13 runs still gives a harsh XP penalty (enough to discourage coming back). In other words, not much changes.

-Casualgamer B logs on once per week, and usually raids with his/her guild. They TRed their gimp main character that they rolled 4 years ago so that they could be effective in modern content. They eventually get their character to level 17, and FINALLY resume raiding with their guild (why they play the game). Each week, it is like doing the raid for the first time on that character, accelerating their leveling process beyond what they could normally achieve. They will get to level cap quicker, letting them start running Epic raids with their new TR.

If your first delera's end reward includes the item you actually want (Handwraps, Carnifex, Cartouche, etc.), and you take VotM over it, you fail at life.

I think this would indeed be a boon to many of the lower playtime players, not just TR's.

It would be nice if it actually included that. In every Delera's run, the only time I got something I wanted for my Monk was the VotM. All others, no.

Also, if you think that choosing one end reward or another in any video game's quest makes you fail at life, you fail at life. DDO is not life, and maybe one day you'll move out of the basement and realize that. Boobs are life, video games are not.

I like the idea. It would also make it more rewarding for those who have "favorite" quests. It really sucks when you have a quest you enjoy playing but no longer gives you any xp or good rewards just because you've played it too much.

Solution: A DDO Store item that removes quest repititons.

    Crystal of Remove Quest Repetition
Removes 1 quest repetition from the current quest you are in. You will need to re-enter the quest for the effect to take place on your exp earned from the completion of the quest.
    Price: 25 Points.

Coming to the DDO Store soon!

As long as they add Crystal of Removal Repetition +1 and +2 so that it affects more than one repetition at a time.

Another idea would be a Crystal of Spatial Amnesia. You use it on a quest, and it wipes it clean. You still have the experience from it, but your favor from that quest is gone, all repetitions are removed, and you start at Normal (Though you can still access elite if you're a VIP)

    Cost: 250 TP

I would pay 250 points to wipe quests like Shadow Crypt and Litany of the Dead.

I would rather see more quest in the 15-17 ranges because pretty much there is a lack of quest (specifically level 15). From 1-14 there are plenty of quests and at those level TR xp is not that bad. Level 16 is ok with the 5 vale quest, but I was still extremely bored repeating the same 5 quests (thank god for +25% bonus).
Be careful what you say and how you say, especially when you add lib details. It come back and bite you...

Actually you're both wrong. In order to capitalize it's E until it's not worth it followed by a quick H/N and then a C if the quest has a high enough base value.

Which is way easier to do now that VIPs have the ability to open straight to elite. No more need for having an opener (unless you aren't VIP, but come on, you've TR'd...you have to know a few....right?).
