I hope it's intentional too. Though, it's a little strange that the description would change to include the -10% fort, but not get changed about only being able to be selected once.

(Still wish it was allowing double strikes with ranged weapons)

Given the fact that nearly the whole rogue forum is contemplating if one should take 3 or 4 of these feats, this might be a hint that taking Opportunist multiple times could be overpowered.

I like the feat, but I hope taking it once is intentional.

Don't get all super-frustrated by release notes and things pre-beta.

Release notes are not a contract. I'm sure Turbine wants them to be correct, but sometimes mistakes can be made. Release notes that are pre-beta are even less "real". Even if they were accurate for their intentions a few weeks back, they can adjust the mechanics as they see fit.

I'd rather they get it RIGHT the first time, rather than me run a rogue up to 18 or 19 and for the next release to remove it (cough cough touch of death) ... even if it is all for the best to make that change LATER, I'd still have it in a good spot NOW.

I'm just wondering how effective the 10% fort reduction is going to be. As far as I am aware there are very few mobs that have fortification, most of the mobs that cant be critted are immune to crits, and this feat should not do anything against those?

I'm thinking Opportunist may just be close to useless

    ??

The feat gives -10% fort for the monster being attacked, not for the rogue doing the attacking.

But does bosses all have fortification, or are they simply immune to crits?

    They have Fortification.

Unless they are Immune to crits for other reasons(IOE: They are a Lich), then, they are immune.

You do realize that we are talking about the specific rogue class feats here right?
You already have a fairly limited selection in those.

No they don't. The release notes specifically state

"This feat can only be selected by Rogues as a special Rogue ability at levels 10, 13, 16, or 19"

Note the use of the word "or" at the end there. Unfortunately, That signifies that you have to choose and can only pick it at one of those levels.

Hmm..what's the in-game tooltip currently say then?

    Edit: Reading for the win!

The full description specifically says this...

Benefit: A rogue with this ability gains a 3% chance to double strike with melee weapons and bypasses 10% fortification. This ability may be taken multiple times.

So, either it's a bug, or a design change that didn't make it to the release notes.

Reading the actual notes helps sometimes.

Obviously I read the patch notes since I took a quote directly from there. I just missed the line above. Mr. Smarty Pants :P

Not as few as we thought:

I would hardly call +10% sneak attacks and crits on Sulo, Horoth and good ole Harry useless. More DPS is always useful as long as you can manage the aggro.

No, if it works on raid bosses then it is great. I just dont expect that it will.....
