It had better be good epic, because otherwise it pretty much sucks.

Disheartening to see that a light repeater gets an epic version before we see epic handwraps.

Yes, and to formalize the problem with the non-epic Hellfire Crossbow: It has no real advantage over the +2 Flaming Repeating Light Crossbow you could get off the auction house. Other Chronosphere items are powerful for their level, or at least have a strange ability (Featherfall) you can't get on random loot. The only advantage Hellfire Crossbow has is Scorching Ray, which is useless like all offensive clickies.

They should at least give this crossbow a Flaming Burst ability, which would be a minor improvement considering characters at that level don't have Imp Crit.

Or bump up the damage dice. Or adjust the crit range. SOMETHING. A level 3 scorching ray with no metas is pretty useless.

As far as an attack clicky goes (which isn't far) I must admit scorching ray is probably a good choice, no save and set damage not based on caster level (aside form the multiple rays thing).

It isn't quite as impressive as the hellstroke axe though.

The level 4 cloak doesn't have Dusk but is otherwise the same. I'll get a picture up later unless someone beats me to it.

And I think we could assume that the Colorless Slot on the docent is a bug.

Don't quote everything like that.

Motes are from turning in event-dropped Fingerbones, Skulls, and Opals, from the randomly spawned undead (very low spawn rate during the event, they know it's an issue). The Lich Dust and Vampire Fangs are used for the tier 4/5 upgrades. You need a Spectral Dragon Scale from the summoning chamber for the tier 3/4 upgrades.

Fingerbones > Skulls > Opals I think, but not entirely sure. Opals are definitely the lowest tier. Get a random amount of motes per turn in.

The gear has a variant/upgrade every 4 levels. So level 4/8/12/16/20 versions exist.
There are handwraps, a robe, a docent, and a cape.
There are two eternal wands, with level 1/3/5/7/9 variants.
There are a number of potions and a couple silly effects.
There's the option to buy the rarer non-scale upgrade requirements (vampire fangs and lich dust).
And, of course, there's an option to get Renown.
I had a screenshot of it all but it messed up in editing... (I should clarify, a screenshot of the barter window, which doesn't display any effects and only has a blurb description)

I don't think anyone had enough motes yet to find out by the time I left. It takes 2 Spectral Scales to get to level 20 (1 at 16 and 1 at 20) as well.

+5, greater bane, something equivalent to Force Burst, a possibly quite impressive anti-undead damage proc (we'll have to see it in action), and Disruption to quickly clean up the few tough undead (Cinderspawns in elite Sins of Attrition come to mind) that aren't immune.
