    Default Paladins gain Intimidate

How will this affect current paladins? Will we need to purchase an expensive Lesser Heart of Wood in order to make this adjustment?

Hearts of Wood drop as loot in U7 if I recall correctly.

Sounds pretty good. Hopefully they'll let us fix Intimidate without having to spend money on it, but I doubt that will be the case.

Yeah I'm wondering how this will work as well, considering the 18 SkPs I have in intimidate on my paladin that only add to 9. Will they auto convert to 18 in intimidate or will I need a lesser heart? I think all paladins should get a lesser heart mailed to them if they're found to have intimidate.

edit: Seph I'll check this out as soon as the client updates and let you know. I copied my paladin over specifically to check this. The only problematic situation I can see would be my 12 ftr/6 paladin/2 monk who had to use 2 pts from the paladin levels to increase Intimidate prior to update 7..

Yeah, but I imagine they will be incredibly rare, and will not help all the paladins out there who would like to actually take their new addition. Perhaps a token that allows us to respend all fo our skill points if such a thing could be done?

I saw this in the notes but have been to entertained in the tod thread.

I will be TRIng my fighter likely as soon as U7 comes out. While I lose some cool things as a fighter, I gain a bunch as a paly for how my char is built. IMO this is a nerf for SD and a huge buff to DOS.

    Less intim and max AC
    Lower Tactics and versitility.
    Higher self buffed ac
    higher saves
    Greater survivability
    Overall greater tanking ability.
    Higher overall dps.

I'll be scribbling out builds trying to find a way ti make it work

Will you still base the build around the LOTD? In your fighter thread post you mentioned about the build being centered around the Litany. The negative effects the litany are very minuscule compared to the benefits but just wondering about your opinion.

No dice on converting skill points spent..its just as busted as I thought it would be. I'll go bug report it now.

Developers, please note that the bestowing of intimidate to Paladins is not updating the amount of skill points currently spent on a character's intimidate skill. Live my paladin has 10 ranks in intimidate, which should translate to 20 with the change to intimidate. In a sense you're eating 10 skill points from this change!

edit: Oh wait I can't bug report it. That service isn't working right now

It's because they're already spent and the game does not make record as to what class your points came from. It's one of the reasons that skill respecs aren't available like feat respecs are and we have to do the whole reincarnation rebuild instead.

Hopefully you'll be one of the first to pull a Heart of Wood from a chest so you can update your character.

    That's not an adequate excuse.

Every Paladin should get a message on log-in directing them to speak to a trainer for a free re-allocation of all skillpoints. If that's too much work to program, then they should find a Heart of Wood in their mailbox.

Yes, giving out Hearts of Wood could allow those characters to respec more than just their Intimidate skillpoints, but that's better than the alternative of disallowing a legitimate adjustment to the change.

Not saying that not allowing a free respec is good or bad, just that it was the reason the points weren't automagically reallocated.

    Cool.

+1 to the idea all paladins should get a bound lesser +3 heart in the mail or inventory.

Not a +3 one. Just a regular old lesser heart.

I'm thinking that Paladins should perhaps gain a + intimidate line and a + to intimidate from DoS. Otherwise, they're going to be lacking in the intimidate section a bit. Also, Shintao get's a bonus to intimidate, so why not DoS?

To everyone who thinks a free heart of wood should go to all pallys I gotta ask....are your helmets on to tight?

When in the history of DDO has turbine ever offered any kind of free respec when they change something like this?

While I can see why you would want one lets be honest here. Why the hell would they give you something that they can charge for? If your counting on them to do the semi-decent thing you might as well trying to milk Pepsi from a cow cause it aint gonna happen.
