Go Battlecleric cause I found holy burst of pure good?

I am thinking about deleting my lvl 9 human cleric (manly healer) and start a new one as a battlecleric because i got a holy burst morningstar of pure good rc: human. I figured out jet that its an decent weapon, but I don’t really using it because I am healing most of the time. How rare are those? Is it like a Zod-Rune in D2 and a reason to start over new? Or just rare and a nice perk even on my 14 strength radiant servant with Divine Might I for occasionally clubbing things to death? And should I bound it so it wont take permanent damage or leave it unbound to use it on future chars too?

the weapon itself is a rather poor one (morningstar) for melee purposes (other than beating up skeletons).

That is an ok skelly beater but not a main weapon.

It's a nice weapon but most battleclerics use weapons other than morningstar so not super uuuber. Great find for your current cleric, no need to reroll.

Thanks for the quick answers. OK skelly beater is..well...got a undead bane mace for those. For what amount could I sell it on the AH and what is a good main weapon beside the shroud ones. Are there any at all? On the other side: I'll continue focusing on healing, so I hope I will get a god devotion item soon. Buying ardor drinks shortens the plat for staffs, scrolls and AH to much.

Get an ardor clickie, they mostly come in form of simple weapons (daggers or scepters). I always find them cheap at the broker in house D. They don't need an item slot like a Devotion item and provide even better healing.

That one, plus another one that's a longsword? Well, you're set.

That said, you shouldn't "build" a toon based off of a single item/weapon.

keep it, you can use it to bypass DR. Besides as a cleric your STR sucks anyway so most of your mele damage comes off procs like holy burst and pure good..

A battle cleric does not use mace/morningstar as their main DPS.

Two handed weapon fighting BC's use:
Greatswords, Great Axes, Falchions and Mauls

Two weapon fighting BC's use:
Kopesh, Rapiers, Longswords etc.

The morningstar is good for you when you want to go solo on slayer/explorer runs and an occasional mob beat down. Or you can sell it for a pretty penny or two.

Thanks again for the answers. I am manly playing on Thelanis and Canith but perhaps I'll move on to G-Land when the boots are in the docks. I got the morningstar on Thelanis and I think I'll keep it even if its only a good skelly-beater. Figured out it beats my old one because undead bane = +2d6 and holy burst of pure good = + 3d6. Most classes can use morningstars, its rc to human and the I was told to keep it for the "next generation" of my toons.
