Default Change "Unholy burst" into "Negative Burst"

Unholy burst as a viable option for ToD ring crafting need some love. My idea is to change the "evil burst" part into "Negative Energy Burst", just the same negative energy that Dark monks can inflict with Fists of Darkness.

It would work on any Living mob, and wont work on Undead/Lich/Skeletons and the like (just like fists of darkness)

I think this would be a very cool change and certainly wouldnt be overpowered in any way. It also would bring a better deal of choice and it'd be really cool if I could use an Negative Energy burst ring together with a Holy Burst ring and use Shintao. Of course, that's only for fantasy and fun purposes.

But would be nice if Unholy was changed, since the way it is now, it's of no use on pve.

It has niche uses currently - mainly, it can be used in conjunction with Metalline wraps (or Cold Iron Threaded wraps) to bypass the DR of some Eladrin.

This isn't important currently unless your endgame is Running with the Devils, but in the future it might just be.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

Even if Eladrin come into DDO in the future via some quests, it still would affect less than 1% of the whole game.

I think negative burst would make it a more usable weapon, while still not working against undead, which would be its major flaw. But hey, I can live with that ;D

I just wanna it to damage something at other than a hand of quests.

p.s: We dont have eladrin currently poking around, have we? I might have missed them if we do. But still... even fire burst/icy burst is more worthy to have than Unholy, and we can only get unholy on GS weapons (but they at least have Evil Burst, which affects some things) and ToD rings, both which are lv18+ and take months to farm.

We may well head back to Amrath in the future. THere's a whole Archon area there, and without Unholy Burst, monks cannot bypass their DR at all.

That said, I've rethought your suggestion and am more in favor of it for greensteel - suddenly, people would actually craft some of the cool other effects like Disintegration weapons.

That sounds interesting. It might be what Eladrin was implying here?

    Why does it need love?

No bad, that's way too powerful.

Could be reasonable to downgrade the damage from 2d6 and make it work on non-evil creatures, or something. But still, there's little reason to improve Unholy TOD rings because it's your choice as to what ring to make.

Not much of a choice if there's nothing it works on.
