    Default Speed shroud run

yesterday i was in a speed run of the shroud for the first time and it was pretty impressive. i've never seen portals or the boss drop so fast

i think the finish time was 15 mins.

but i just wanted to say thanks to everyone that was there, it was good fun

It was indeed a lot of fun. Our time wasn't great but we can certainly improve it. Some highlights for me:

    - I took Wrack Construct specifically to help speed up Part 1. What I didn't realize was that a) Wrack Construct has a 6-second cooldown and b) we were killing portals before I could get a second attempt. That's some stupid-fast portal killing. Only one portal failed its save (Those portals move quick when you try to wrack 'em! 28 DC reflex save!) I think we can save a lot of time by better planning who goes to which portal.

    - The funniest part of the run was part 3. Someone (*cough* Jaerlach *cough*) had the bright idea of breaking the crystals because "you lose the chests but you don't have to run water!" So here we are in our puzzles, throwing daggers at crystals only to find out that, yes, you DO still need to run water. LOL. We lost at least a minute there standing at the barrier wondering why it hadn't dropped. "OMG, everyone start running water!" lol

    - Arraetrikos lasted about as long as a portal. OK, it wasn't that fast but the blades were still outside the ring that the casters normally stand at when he died.

Great fun and I can't wait for our next attempt...and only 1 more day before I can spec back out of Wrack Construct!

I don't know if I'm more surprised by jaer being such a noob or the fact that no one in the entire group knew to correct him.

I can't say I've ever been much of a crystal breaker...

I believe we originally started with: If you know your puzzles by heart or solver: solve them and if you don't and can quickly do it - break the crystal.... then more talk "If we break all of them do we still have to run water?"... long pause... as noone had ever done that. Maybe not.... shrug... never done that... Then we sort of convinced ourselves that breaking all the xtals might not need water run.

Given you need to run water and giving all the zooming around. You could almost see monks as being the best class for the speed run. Charge up as much ki as possible in round 1... and abundant step the rest of the shroud. All monks, an fvs (leaping) and a bard for songs.

The next Shroud after the speed run was even funnier.

    5 Arcanes
    3 bards
    4 melees

We killed the lieutenants in P2 and realized no one had gone to the crystal.
