SoS vs. Greensteel

Okay, I'm a WF FvS Lord of the Blades build. I'm almost level 20. I'm lucky enough to have my SoS but am unlikely to be upgrading it to Epic anytime soon. Now obviously 98 percent of the time in raids I'm putting on my healing hat. But the question is: How would you rank the regular SoS vs. MinII vs. Lit II? What about Shroud/VOD/HOX/TOD vs normal quests? What about when I eventually TR? In other words, if I have SoS, should I build a greensteel and if so, which one (min or lit)? Thanks.

I would do Mineral 2 Greatsword for DR beating and eSoS for your general DPS purposes.


Eventually you'll probably want a Quarterstaff (either Mineral 2 or Triple Post) for things that have Blunt DR.

In that case, Mineral 2 Greatsword and work towards an eventual eSoS.

Non-epic SoS is garbage and not in the same ballpark as MinII or LitII.

You want a boss beater. MinII is a very easy solution while also being amazing DPS.

He is referring to the fact that in a good epic group most of the hitting you are doing will happen on mobs in "autocrit" state from either holds, fts, or stuns.

The x3 multiplier does make it better, although I would argue that if you really want something for that you may consider a GS greataxe (may not even need all 3 tiers), and your ability to hit while autocrit is not an issue.

That said, I find that the Dreamspitter is extremely effective in those situations as well.
